    A damn near perfect Bourbon in my opinion, and better than almost every option double the price. Seriously good stuff.

    A spot on review gentlemen. Eagle Rare 10 is one of the top "Affordable & available" bourbons out there.

    Been a fan of this Bourbon since I first tried it about 5 years ago. It was one of the first Bourbons that I tried as I ventured into USA whiskys for the first time. Infact I just finished a bottle a few days ago and am about to order another Lol

    One of my go to bourbons. It seems to have gotten harder to find for some reason...but when I see it...I buy it.

    I think the Eagle Rare 10 year is a single barrel but they can't call it that because some bottles get the end of one barrel and then some from a new barrel. I think all bottles in between are single barrel. Maybe someone can confirm or deny this.

    • @wardgrundy7875
      @wardgrundy7875 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Denied. It is under US law a blended bourbon. However the US is fairly strict about what can be labeled single barrel so it could come down to there pouring practices but as of the recent tour with mr. Freddie himself eagle rare is blended between a few barrels

    • @Mr.M1STER

      Okay.

    • @ScottO84
      @ScottO84 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@wardgrundy7875 The fact that you continually refer to it as a "blended whiskey" is incorrect. Blended whiskey is something entirely different. The fact that one bottle may contain a mix of two barrels from their automated assembly line is the reason the Single Barrel denotation was dropped. Prior to that, each barrel was bottled individually.

    • @js92css
      @js92css 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ScottO84 so, it is very possible to get a single barrel, but because it will always have a mix of 2 barrels at the beginning and end of a barrel emptied, it CANNOT be called a single barrel?

    • @ScottO84
      @ScottO84 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@js92cssBased on the information about their automated line for Eagle Rare, that is correct. In all likelihood, the vast majority of them are statistically single barrel bottles.

    Congratulations again on the 25 year anniversary. Great achievement! Eagle rare, for me, is not an outstanding bourbon by any means. However, considering it’s reasonable price, easy availability, and age statement, it’s a definitely a great option.

    Is this much different than regular Buffalo Trace bourbon?

    • @jmanswat2457
      @jmanswat2457 4 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      Yes. Eagle Rare is richer, sweeter by far, and has the dark or cherry fruits aspect to it. Hardly any spice to it. Standard Buffalo Trace is lighter, carmely, no fruit, mild spice- classic bourbon.

    Ben... you keep swishing that in your mouth like mouth wash im surprised your taste buds have anything left after you swallow. Dang man... couple swishes around is all it takes. Your just burning your taste buds away doing that.

    • @j-rb6363
      @j-rb6363 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You usually keep whisk(e)y in your mouth 1 second for each year (not literally, it's just to make a statement that the older the whisk(e)y is, the more complex, the more it develops in your mouth...generally speaking).
      In this case, 10 seconds or so should be what you aim for.

    • @jmanswat2457
      @jmanswat2457 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It's a tasting method. In bourbon country it's called the Kentucky chew. But I've never tried it myself. I do know that when I'm buzzed I'm able to discern individual flavors more easily. Maybe this facilitates that action.

    • @jeffmills822
