Que imagen tan maravillosa la de Benedicto XVI, la de la humildad, Fe , devoción y unción. Que alegría que haya sido uno de los papás más maravillosos de la historia, ojalá algún día podamos verlo en el lugar que le corresponde , el de la Santidad.

It's also good to see the revival of 'Roman'-style vestments. They are an endangered species and this pope has done much to revive them during his pontificate. As you say, it's a trivial matter, really, but I've always liked them.

I love the fact that this newly ordained bishops wear the dalmatic under their chasuble...many will say it's only a vestment and doesn't really matter when it comes to their leadership as the shepherd of the people of God, but I guess, for me, it matters a lot. It remind the peoples as well as for the bishop himself that their vestment is a continuous reminder of their sacred role for them, which is endowed by Christ Himself. :)

The vestments are only for mass, only for God. I'm sure he appreciates the simplicity. But for mass some of us Catholics describe the external displays as "simplistically noble". We have to give God our best, our most beautiful for the sacrifice that is about to occur. But there is always a touch of simple to remind us to practice humility. It might be hard to see at first but you will appreciate it.

It’s mighty strange at how Benedict XVI and these newly-consecrated bishops are vested in the traditional Roman vestments (papal fanon, Roman fiddlebacks etc.) but NOT wearing maniples. Why don’t Latin priests ever wear the maniple outside of the Tridentine rite? Also, if Benedict is so traditionalist, why doesn’t he use the old rite of Episcopal consecration that’s much more ancient than the Pauline rite?
There is a PUSH in most parts of the Catholic world (except the US) that is seeking a more "Catholic" approach to worship and other externals. Benedict's use of the older vestments is one such example, and is the inclusion of Latin for some parts of the MASS; the use of the Pauline Rite is an example of keeping some of the newer rites and rituals to blend with the older. Now with Francis, it's not out of the question for other externals and trappings to be thrown out as well by this liberal clown who has promised this and that, and done the opposite at best, and nothing at worse.

I wonder will we ever see this wonderful service in 2021 2022 and beyond once the pandemic is at an end,
To see so many come together at St Peters and worship.
It broke my heart to see Easter 2020 and all of the holy days with not even 50-100 in attendance.
EVen in 2021 you see the Pope is using the side altars like the Chair of St Peter with the bronze of the popes behind him.
I think this year East less than 200 attended or shall I say were allowed entry.
To not be able to worship as so many demorat governors, mayors in the USA did was in direct violation of our Constitution and too many judges were weak and not stripping the governors of their powers and sanction them, heck even the 9 morons in DC took close to 1 yr to say Calif was illegal.
NEVER AGAIN, I for one will defy any politician or judge who tells me I cannot go to Church to worship.
What we have still in the USA is a direct case of Tyranny led by DEMORATS not GOP. Led by a senile 78 yr old man who has accomplished nothing in 50 yrs on the public teet. STAND UP FOR GOD
What we saw in 2020-2021 is the road to Socialism.
So lay back and be raped by the Demorats or stand up on your hind legs and say NO MORE DAMN IT NO MORE.
