I made a mock wrap top several years ago from a Jalie pattern when they first started out. I loved all the size options, good directions as I recall. I want to make the Eleonore jeans, soon!

I love all the size availability in Jalie. Also the back was shown in the line drawings of the button up shirt.

Have made Julie patterns in the past Love the women’s fleece jacket with lots of pockets. Great instructions too. A plus is getting women’s and girls sizes all in one!

Jalie patterns are great. I have made the jogging pants/sweatshirt/hoodie combo, which is amazing value.

I have the Bobbie pattern cutout now. I like the idea of an inner layer to my tops instead of wearing a camisole. I love having all the size options.

Nice review! I have seen Jamie's cocoon cardigan pattern, and really liked it! The Bobbie has me intrigued! 😏

no centre front seam is exactly what you want...seam in back is good for 'definition' but not a good look for front:)...

I made the Bobbie top with the facing. It is a quick sew and it really does work. It keeps the shirt close to the body so nothing hangs out. The armholes are low, but the facing fills them in and covers your bra. I didn't need to add elastic to the bottom of the facing- it stays in place. But if you are wearing it for yoga or working out, you may want to add elastic. It should be simple to do. Great patterns. I met Jeanne and Emilie, the owners at Pattern Review Weekend. They know their stuff.

My question is this: how do you cut out something with 28 sizes printed on it? Do you have to trace? I agree with Stay Stitching on the price point for a single top or pair of pants. I enjoyed your commentary as always. Haven't quite made up my mind about Jalie. Some of the patterns are really cute. But...

My PDF patterns from Jalie has a little box that you can choose your size and only that one (or multiple sizes for shoulders/bust/hips for your own personal grading) will print out. These are awesome patterns and have wonderful fit... coming from someone who has never been able to fit a big 4 pattern yet...

How do I live in the same province and have never heard of them!? Thanks for featuring them! Just so you know, as they are French-speaking Canadians, they would pronounce the "a" in Jalie the same as you would in "jazz", and the 'j' without the "d" sound at the beginning.

      So, like yah-lie?!

More like Ja-lee and don't say the "d" sound before the J... I'm French-Canadian too. Known them since the 90's always were amazing patterns

      Like 'zha-lie', I believe

Not exactly. The French "j" sound doesn't actually exist in the English language. If, for example, you say the word "Joe" very slowly, you'll notice the tip of you tongue starts behind you upper front teeth and quickly moves down and back to a more neutral, central position. Well, that's where the French "j" starts. Hopefully this link will work: www.reverso.net/translationresults.aspx?lang=FR&direction=francais-anglais Click on the little speaker symbol to hear it pronounced.

I have a joggers/hoodie pattern that's super cool, but I haven't made it yet. Overall, I feel like Jalie patterns are a little expensive for their fashion line. I get the prices for specific sportswear, but not for one top or one kimono. I happily paid for the pattern I have because I couldn't find anything else like it. On the other hand, I buy Cashmerette patterns like nobody's business, so I guess I'm talking out of both sides of my mouth. Overall, I didn't see anything in this collection that would encourage me to spend that much.

Yah. I think they price is really reflective of the extended sizing. For mom’s, they get a pattern for themselves and their daughter. And, in general, indie patterns are going to be more expensive. I usually justify the cost because of the sew-alongs and added perks.

The pencil skirt is like the Bibi skirt in the Stretch book by Tilly and the Buttons.

There are similarities (both are knit pencil skirts) but the shape of the panel is very different. The Bibi skirt is one continuous panel with seams in the front and back whereas the Lisette has angled piece in the front, a side seam and no seams in the back. The waist finish is also very different. I think the Lisette is a little more fitted too. It's easier to see on the line drawings: 3.bp.blogspot.com/-E1u0yhDFZ74/WxSCRq4DuOI/AAAAAAAAHMw/mv5h9SYvTJ0rG6jreA1y9Ea8HFZWRnymgCLcBGAs/s640/29216464_2486885784869369_3988390962748456960_n.jpg

I think the yoga pants are the Nike style.
