JENNER was out for personal reasons and didn't want to be traded. Columbus honored his request.
I want Jenner with Toronto but unless he request a trade, don't see it happening

I'm not a Leafs fan by any means.....but Robertson just had 2.54 points per 60 minutes this past season. They most certainly could get a 1st round pick for that lmao.

i like Jenner, but the trade (if it happens) would likely include more pieces, to balance the finacial aspect. the leaf are already over the cap so i thought maybe they would want a pick, 1st/2nd rounder for Robertson
You can be 5 or 10% over cap till season starts . They’ll be able to do it just gotta get someone out hopefully liligren and his $3 mill

You are not getting Boone Jenner for Nick Robertson. My goodness. Boone Jenner is the Columbus #1 center. He's a defensively responsible center who maybe gets a little more than half point a game. He plays 20 minutes a night. Nick Robertson has played 87 career NHL games in five years in Toronto. He produces around a half point a game and has no defensive game. He's not a first line center, he's a 13th forward. He has 34 points in 87 career games over five years.
Boone Jenner even at 31 is twice the player that Nick Robertson is.
Trade Marner and robertson for jenner and laine. There you go.

I would not trade Robertson for Jenner purely because of the age difference. Marner will not be traded so move on.
I love the Jenner pick up but more needs to go the other way. I want nothing to do with Laine. He is a problem in the room and production has tailed off hugely in recent years. But love Jenner. He's only 31 and should have 3 or 4 productive years left in him. Columbus doesn't make that trade straight up though they would want more back even if it's just a pick.

Former 5th overall pick that the coaching staff doesn't like, and has potential to play in the middle. Buying him at all-time low. It's a gamble. But it could pay off in spades

Sending Reaves down would be a mistake. They do not have enough toughness on the team without Reaves to prevent their skilled players from getting abused by other teams. Reaves is there to send a message that they won't be pushed around. More realistic to have Columbus retain salary if Jenner wants to join the Leafs to even out the salaries. They aren't exactly at the cap and could take salary on to get Robertson's potential.

@@oldhab7890 I wouldn't make that trade. Robertson is just entering the league really and is only 22. He himself is worth a 1st or 2nd rounder and already scores more than Boone Jenner. Jenner is 31 and is on the downside. Kampf has many of the attributes of Jenner except the 15 goals per year. Jenner and a 4th rounder for Robertson and Kampf.
There is no cap room. There is also huge Question marks in goal. Lets see if even 1 of the 3 can play 30 games. Our best chance is a backup goaltender. This is Campbell or Samsonov all over again. Then we complain about it when they leave in a bad goal. Lets see if the Defence is actually better. We have enough scoring but we just need to spread it over 4 lines instead of stacking 2. Just like most successful teams they play team defence.. The regular season does not matter. Everyone wants to trade the few good prospects we have. We will need them for cheap cap hits. Short term rebuild. The next year we should have cap room. We try and fix any weak spots. I would like to see Minten get 30-40 games in AHL and the rest in the NHL. Cowan after another year in junior.

It wouldn’t be 3.75 Columbus would have to eat 25/50 percent and we would add kampf into the deal and the money works just fine it’s pretty simple

Jenner is 9 years older. His best years are long gone. Unless something else comes to the Leafs in this supposed trade, it does not make sense.
Jenner would help a lot in the play offs. Much moreso than Robertson. Robertson will be a bust in Columbus guaranteed. Way over valued by Leaf fans.
