    I grew up in the streets. Surrounded from gangs all my life. My neighbors, classmates, friends and families was gang members. I didnt join them. I finished HS, went to college and stay away from that. I worked at the Radio Station and most of them are dead, homeless or in prison.

    Had the pleasure to go to homeboys work with maintenance as a young man attend there school. Father greg threw me for a mean loop. His understanding and compation inspired me. I went from a long road to no where to the life i have now. Im a union steward family house. Homies do change they do recover. And the hardest part was surrendering to the lord to a different way of life. Learning to cope with the struggles and stress. And overcoming it.

    My uncles friend did time in prison, last I saw him was back when I was 5, now I’m 25 and he nearly broke down in front of me. A man who did time and who for the most part spent a quarter of his life locked up. Came out to see a world that no longer existed. To me he was a like a modern day rip van winkle, who in a matter of years was not present to see changes to his hood or his homies. I’m glad he was able to integrate back into society and leave the old life behind.

    The thing I fight with is the thoughts of " which one of my bro's will get hurt cuz I'm not there ". Every time you hear of a shooting, your scared for your bro's. It's like leaving a family. But to recover, your new family has to imbrace who you were and that you need support. I don't get that and some days it seems to be easier to just end it rather than completely forget what you went through. We are some of the most mentally strong people in the world cuz most people go insane after a week of that life. But to have people that want to deny that you were that person and now your not. It takes all that mental strength from you. It makes you feel like living that life is the easy way to live. I promise everybody that it isn't the easy life

      I wasn't a banger but I lived a life of drug addiction to pills and heroin but I'm changing, change is good, its like we stand at a crossroads, and we have the choice to go to the right or to the left or we can go straight in the path of God!!

    Changes come in time. You can't change over night. You have to step out the bubble you fight with yourself cus it's easy to do bad then to do good. Having the right tools and the right support anything is possible. It's the hardest thing to do is to change but as soon as you understand That all you are is a Satisty gang member. Then you understand that u'll want more for yourself. Anyone can change the hard part is being Consistent in that change. Keep your head up and never give up. Only the weak give up.....

    Malachi 4 1 -6 “For look! the day is coming, burning like a furnace,+ when all the presumptuous ones and all those practicing wickedness will become like stubble. The coming day will certainly devour them,” says Jehovah of armies, “and it will leave them neither root nor branch. 2 But on you who honor* my name, the sun of righteousness will shine, with healing in its rays;* and you will skip about like fattened calves.”3 “And you will tread the wicked underfoot, for they will be like dust under the soles of your feet on the day when I take action,” says Jehovah of armies.4 “Remember the Law of my servant Moses, the regulations and judgments that I commanded at Horʹeb for all Israel to obey.+5 “Look! I am sending to you E·liʹjah the prophet+ before the coming of the great and awe-inspiring day of Jehovah.+ 6 And he will turn the hearts of fathers back toward sons,+ and the hearts of sons back toward fathers, so that I may not come and strike the earth, devoting it to destruction.”

    Because you refused MY call;
    and no one took MY outstretched hand;
    because you neglected all MY counsel;
    and wanted none of MY correction;
    in turn I will mock your calamity;
    I will sneer when terror strikes you;
    when your dread comes like a storm;
    and your destruction like a whirlwind;
    when distress and anguish overwhelm you.
    Then they will call on ME but I will not answer;
    they will earnestly seek ME; but will not find ME.
    For they hated knowledge
    and chose not to fear The LORD.

    Homeboy Industries are not helping enough. They say that they're ex gang members but they still look like active gang members. Attitudes are still the same there has not been a complete change in their life. They still put the youth at risk by not telling them to change the way they look. In this world appearances play a big role. If youre an ex gangmember then you should not look like one. The guy with tattoos in the video is at risk by still looking that way. No gangmember will believe that he is an ex gangmember. Let your hair grow man.

      Junior Moemai they only changed what they want. A true genuine change off heart will make you hate lookin like a gang member. They still flash their tattoos like if they're proud of them. Alot of them don't remove their gang tattoos and that's not someone who wants to change. Homeboy Industries should enforce a dress code that makes them cover their tattoos and dress appropriate. Trust me they will save lives and really motivate people to let go of that lifestyle 100%

    • @biker3762
      @biker3762 7 ปีที่แล้ว +13

      you do realise the tattoos are not stickers and you cant take them off unless u have a very expensive operation which I'm assuming they cant pay unless they try to rob a bank and that wouldn't be them changed would it now lol easy to imply comments but atlas think what you wanna say before saying it

      just because they still have tattoos doesnt mean they didn't change i know a few people that were gangmembers they still have their tattoos but they are changed... they use those tattoos as part of their testimony to tell others what they been back then and how thry changed...
