    My suggestion is to begin using cold water for a few passes, then use hot water. Hot water will set some stains. Learned this working for a dry cleaner.

    • @Inkling777
      @Inkling777 5 ปีที่แล้ว +48

      Right. Hopefully, you've not bled on your seats, but if you have, hot water will set that blood stain. Use only cold water with it. I know. I used to work in a hospital. Lots of cold water will eliminate blood stains quite well.

      Many people have a shop vac. You don't need a big one, you can get smaller ones. I have a small wet vac and that's what I use if for, other than a mess on the rug. You can get a small wet vac for 25 - 30 dollars, no need to spend 50 bucks for a big one.

    This works. Its basically a cheaper homemade carpet cleaner. Its the same thing in concept, but the steam cleaner is just fancier: spray and vacuum button on the handle, sprayer is a nozzle exterior to and next to the vacuum end. U can also use a soft brush to work in/out the water before vacuuming it.

      @yu-ger-bloob-highway3521 6 ปีที่แล้ว +13

      Lol....this is funny. YES laundry detergent is made for fabric. BUT is it made specifically to get off grease? Yeah...I don’t think so. Detergent is for a general cleaning and perfuming of your laundry, not to literally save a ducks life when it gets immersed in oil that people dump in their water. It’s safe to assume people don’t keep up with their car e.i. Not cleaning it once a week, which means the majority of people will have tough stains. There is the “common sense” difference. Lol. You’re not dealing with your normal laundry, your dealing with an old difficult stain on one of the most tightly woven fabrics in modern day.

    Wait, why isn't this video at least 30 minutes long with him telling me his life story and how his dog just went into surgery and stuff before getting to the point of the video? Oh, video was made in 2017, that explains a lot.
    Also I hope your dog is doing great.

  • @DominicI1

    Two tips that will massively improve the process: Replace the water with vinegar and use a scrub brush to agitate it briefly before vacuuming. It could be improved even further if you smear a little bit of baking soda over the seat beforehand and have a second sprayer with plain water to saturate while vacuuming for a makeshift extractor.

    • @DominicI1
      @DominicI1 3 ปีที่แล้ว +68

      @@brittanycurrency2941 Only for a certain amount of time. Vinegar evaporates, leaving no scents behind. Took about three days for my car to lose it's vinegar scent, but it could take longer if you use too much vinegar or you are in a colder climate.

      @@DominicI1 With the vinegar mixture, do you still use the dish soap? I'm thinking of giving this a try and I want to make sure I understand your advice.

    • @DominicI1
      @DominicI1 3 ปีที่แล้ว +30

      @@cedricadaniels7983 Yes, I still used dish soap. The vinegar by itself can help dissolve certain minerals and make it easier for a stain to separate (especially if the stain has been there for a long time). The soap is equally important though, as it bonds to the oils and sticks to particles, giving the vacuum something to suction onto and pull out. Hope this helps!
