Hi Jay, thanks for the comment. I think it did fully charged the battery. If you will noticed the start of the video the multimeter reading is 13.33. Check out Part 1 which I started charging. So I think it's fully charged. However, the charger won't turn into blinking or solid green. I was waiting for the charger to turn green. Not sure if it needs to reach a certain point to charge to turn into green. Hope this helps! Let me know if you still have any questions. Thanks!
@Jay Werrett Looks like I'm having the same problem. I hooked up the NOCO Genius 1 to my dads 2011 Lexus RX350 and it's still blinking Red after two days of charging. You think the NOCO Genius 2 would do better, or go straight to the 5?
@@SkubySnak Hi! Thanks for your comment. Jay is right, you can use 5 amp or higher. In my Part 2 video you'll noticed that the Deep Cycle Battery is fully charged but the charger failed to detect or turn into solid or blinking green light. You can still use the 1 amp for charging but you have to monitor it to avoid overcharging. Haven't tried the trickle charging with my Deep Cycle battery. Right now I'm discharging my Deep Cycle down to 50% and start charging again. Will see if it will turn into solid green light.
@@fish153 but the NOCO 1 shouldnt overcharge, right? My dad told me this morning that the unit finally turned Green....so now its in maintenance mode, right?
@@SkubySnak That's good news! Yes, it's in maintenance mode. The user guide says "After the battery is fully charged, the charger will continue monitoring the battery, and provide ongoing maintenance and optimization. The 100% Charge LED will pulse "on" and "off" slowly during these cycles. The charger can be left connected to the battery indefinitely." There you go. But I will still monitor the voltage. How long did you charged the battery and what group number? Let's see if my charger will do the same with my deep cycle.
Thanks Jay for the info. I think I will buy the 5 amp and test it. Happy charging! :)
