Thank you for another fabulous video, Alexandra. The gardens you visit are stunning, your voice is soothing and your experience and knowledge is endless. With love from Boston, USA❤️👍
A beautiful garden for sure. I planted tulips, dandelions, hyacinths and Allium bulbs in the Fall and can't wait to see them flower. Still a lot of snow on one side of my front garden here in Ontario, Canada. My small back garden's bulbs have started to sprout. Hope you and yours are keeping well during this very, scary time. It's quite frightening for me as I am of that elder age with underlying issues. Stay safe and well, Lucy.
Thank you and I hope you stay safe too. We have just been informed we are no longer allowed to leave our houses, except to buy food and take one walk a day. I hope that will help bring it under control.
@@TheMiddlesizedGarden It's the same here and everywhere I guess. I sent hubby out to shop alone today as they said, only one should be the designated shopper and he's the driver. I am scared about my lung issues. We do see some of your PM's talks to you all and sounds like it's getting serious. Take care, Lucy
I don't think I've ever seen that daffodil variety with the very split corona, almost like a starburst. Lovely! Thanks for sharing, such a joyful little break from all the general gloom.
Absolutely loved this video, excellent filming, wonderful tips and dialogue, and what a gorgeous garden! Thank you very much for this much needed cheer!
The varieties of daffodils...and all the other spring bulbs. I am following you on this tour...step by step This is a most refreshing sparkle....in such times.. Thanks for sharing..💖💝
Love the tour. Love bulbs. And try to add more every year. When I moved to this house their were daffs planted around 2 large ash trees. I lost the trees to the ash borers and moved the daffodils but did not get all of them They have not bloomed yet but it looks like a fairy ring in the yard now! Thanks for some beautiful gardens needed now more than ever.
Beautiful video... I went crazy with bulbs this winter, now I need to plant them all, but with everything that's been going on, I don't feel like doing much. Thank you for the beautiful distraction, stay safe 😊
Thank you Alexandra for your efforts in getting this video to us. It's so beautiful to see all the springtime buds. I didn't know that about the tulips...have always wondered why ours look so horrible after the first year and barely bloom. I will have to dig up this year and store. Thank you for all the information and taking us to visit a garden. Have a beautiful weekend!
Thanks Lucy, love your no fuss delivery and all the great tips and info, would be good to include time frames and include the name of the month instead of "at this time of year" it isnt always obvious to beginner gardens. Thanks a million.
Lovely garden! Especially liked the silver border so soothing. I have a few pockets of daffodils strategically placed around my condo complex: two that bloom at different times by the tiny library, two more clumps some distance away by a rather unattractive sign about surveillance. The daffodils are watching over our neighborhood! 🌼🌼🌼
Lovely garden. I planted allium bulbs last fall. First bulbs I've planted. They have all come up. Tulips are my favorite but I have wild rabbits and tons of squirrels in my area so I figured allium was a better choice. Thanks Alexandra.
What a good idea to take a photo now, so you know where it was you wanted to plant more bulbs in autumn! I’ll do that this year. Can you tell me why I have a lot of daffodils with only leaves, no flowers?
Your daffodils have 'gone blind' because they are probably a bit congested. You should dig them up. You can then separate them out and replant them around in different places, adding some fertiliser. Or you can throw them away, but they are unlikely to flower if left where they are (although you can return some of the bulbs to that spot with some fresh compost and fertiliser). It doesn't always work so you may decide to throw them away and start again next year.
Just as you say, the daffodils look great this Spring and the tulips look sad. If I dig up the tulip bulbs is there something I can do to make them come up stronger next Spring or should I give up on those bulbs, replace them with other daffodils for example? Thank you.
How lovely, some gardens like the National Trust will be losing due to this global crisis, Spring is really beautiful now. I will definitely plant some daffodils at the base of our Morello cherry tree thanks!
It's important not to cut the leaves off until 6 weeks after the flowers have died. Also give them plant feed at this time. But sometimes daffodils go 'blind' and don't flower. There is really nothing you can do about this except dig them up and plant new ones. I hope that helps.

Thank you so much!
I love the idea of taking notes and photos for the fall when we plant new bulbs so we know what areas might need more to fill any gaps. Great garden!
I love your tour videos :) I lived in England for a bit when I was a child and those gardens have been a great inspiration for me.
Thank you!

I probably planting new tulips every year is best, but if your tulips have a disease, then it's best to avoid growing tulips for around five years.
How lovely, some gardens like the National Trust will be losing due to this global crisis, Spring is really beautiful now. I will definitely plant some daffodils at the base of our Morello cherry tree thanks!
Thank you! and yes, the National Garden Scheme, the National Trust and many more will lose alot of money this year.

Are primulas perennials? Thanks
Yes they are, and they also spread around the garden nicely
