Good Morning, Maryon Family! Hope you are safe! I homeschooled both my kids until they were 16 and they both graduated early. I took the GED testing manual and went over what they would need to know to pass and both passed with flying colors! Thanks for the great video to show others how to do this!! God Bless
Boy I wish I had heard this 10 years ago when I started homeschooling! You gave a ton of tips and a lot of book ideas. I was one of those Momma's that would stress because we didn't get finished with our curriculum and the kids and I would get bogged down by March and it just wasn't fun for my kids or me. Both of my kids are now in Christian Schools and doing great but I do miss teaching them at home. If I were to ever go back to homeschooling, I will be rewatching this video! Thank you Amy! I do hope you and your family made it through the hurricane okay.
we get power outages in wind storms and snow storms, during winter it's easy to just have the back porch be our freezers. during summer though, we take water bottles and freeze them on the doors. that way it keeps everything inside cold longer even if we don't open the doors. yes we have generators too, but in case the power outage lasts longer than the gas does. always plan further than the resources you have. always better safe than sorry :) glad your all safe
Also, I take every hurricane seriously. I’ve seen them head one way, then turn unexpectedly. With Irma we went without power for 8 days. There was no gas, grocery store shelves were bare, cell phone towers were damaged and that was a huge issue. I know some people act like it’s a party. But I’ve seen a lot in the past 20 years and when gas stations don’t have gas and grocery store shelves are bare day after day. You start to realize the heaviness of the situation.
During COVID I homeschooled my granddaughter who was in kindergarten. We used parts of various curriculums. There was one that taught basic science experiments using the book Aesop for Children. She loved it and sparked an interest in science to this day. I also homeschooled my daughter's for middle school many years ago. It is amazing the options now compared to then. For me, homeschooling children is about instilling a love for learning regardless what that method looks like for a child.
When I fell ill and couldn't work, I learned more at home with mom than I could in any college classes and I believe it helped me with life altogether now that I am about to turn 47 this week
I live in Canada and love the way you think about home schooling i did home school for 18 months for my son he did great hes now 18 yrs old and graduated. Thank you Amy for your wonderful ideas . Well said 👍👍👍👍👍😃😃😃💕🇨🇦
HP instant ink! It’s the BEST deal out there! Been using it for years and have saved so much money! Love love your views on homeschooling!! God called us to homeschool 4 years ago and I (admittedly reluctantly) jumped in headfirst. Truly one of the biggest unexpected blessings in our life! I pray your words give hope and encouragement to new homeschoolers or those considering it.
Well, last week was certainly busy! We're right in the Big Bend area where those hurricanes almost never come, and it was an experience. We had to evacuate and then returned, with power out 62 hours. Everything is fine, though, thanks be to God, but I don't know when we'll be able to get our acre cleaned up of all the branches, twigs, etc. I just kept thinking of those people in Hawaii, especially the children, who had NO warning at all, not even one siren. I love the way Florida prepares and then helps when it's all over. We had a good worship time yesterday at church.
I'm here with you I live in Suwannee County Live Oak and we haven't had power for five days now my husband goes insane for a total knee replacement on Wednesday I'm so worried we had such bad yard debris in trees down my son had a company come in to clean it up just to take a load off of us with my husband going into surgery but we're like you were alive and our house is well amen
@@chrishingson3064 We're Columbia County and were almost 90% without power at the height. I hope you get your power soon, and we will pray for a successful surgery for your husband.
I'm on the same page! I'm prepping myself to unschool all my grandkids as they come along! I can't think of a better service to my family and future generations.
So excited for you!!! I enjoyed every single moment of homeschooling my children, I can't think of any better way to serve your grandchildren. You are so blessed.
Very frightening when a hurricane hits, I remember being in florida when the hurricane hit. It looked like a war zone trees on top of cars roofs missing no power roads impassable. Best to have everything you are going to need stored for when a hurricane will hit because there will always will be one.
I think it is interesting and very cool that you are in an area that has never had a direct hit. And you are at a very high elevation for Florida. Also cool. And you, Mrs. Maryon, have way more experience than a lot of people in what it means to be without power and the impact on your freezers. That is such a big thing with hurricanes and you have “been there/done that”. You could give lessons in the freezer prep business!
Good Morning Amy. School librarian here and I think the most important thing you said regarding homeschooling is that each family has to find what works for them. Let's be kind to one another. Preparation, with a positive attitude is key to successful home schooling. And, I love how you use your public libraries; a HUGE resource that is often underutilized. Great video!
I have to print a lot of paperwork myself. I have found the Epson ecotank at Sam's to be the best deal. You can print 1500 to 2500 pages. The printer has ink wells, not cartridges. The ink is very affordable. I hope this helps.
I would love to be able to do this with my kids but life and bills right now 😑 can’t get caught up let alone ahead! Life is kicking us hard! We will hopefully get there one day.
We did “unschooling” but to make others feel better, we just called it “ child led learning”. THE BEST story is when my son went back to regular school (because he wanted to) his math teacher was freaking out because he hadn’t done curriculum for three years. But in the end, he picked it up so fast he finished the year number one in the his class of over 300 kids. It blew her mind.
Good morning Amy, For those parents who are thinking of homeschooling or are homeschooling, you did an awesome job of going thru some of your experiences and knowledge of it. I’m sure they’re very thankful to you. I’m not and was quite impressed of how you manage it and how well your children are doing. Thank you for today. I’m glad you and the family prepared well for the hurricane. I know my family bunkered down as their first hurricane was Ian last year. Thank God you are all safe and sound. 🙏🙏 I appreciate todays reading from the Ephesians. amen. 🙏 You and the family have a beautiful and blessed day. PS great idea to put water in freezer. 😊
God speaks to me alot through you, this was confirmation for me to homeschool i keep getting signs i learn alot about parenting and being patient with myself as a young mother and just also making things easier for myself an how its okay to have a moment for myself...your teaching me to be gentle with myself an see what works for my child thank you
I bought a Physics for Dummies for my grandson’s AP class in his senior year in public school. It was invaluable. The entire class and teacher used it as a reference to help simplify the concepts.
You should be able to use your gas stove to cook your meals. If electric ignition just use a lighter to light. I have done many times when snow knocked out electric
My granddaughter is in Florida and so far just the rain and winds but she is doing fine. It will be my great grandkids first hurricane. Prayers for you and Florida. Thanks for sharing. Hafa adai and love from the island of Guam 🌴❤🌴
I have lived on the west coast of Florida for 51 years. Hurricane prep takes time to understand. Do not stack things outside! I'm sure you've seen on tv cars flying through the air and roofs blowing off. Everything goes inside or you sink it in the pool. Wind gusts over 50 mph are scary! You don't want to watch your pool chairs fly by. Please understand don't leave anything outside!. Put up your hurricane shutters if you have them.
Very good information about homeschooling! New experience with hurricanes! Just one hack I want to pass on to you that I have used every hurricane! Which has been many since I live in Louisiana! Get solar lights like you use in you yard! Don’t put off lots of light but can light pathways through your house n good for bathrooms! Since candles are dangerous to me in times like these! Just put them back out when sun shining! Just rotate them out.
Amy I was born and raised in Sarasota Florida I lived most of my adult hood and Bradenton Florida where you are as I got older I moved to North Florida I am in a town called Live Oak in Suwannee County and I am living the aftermath of idalia with all the Hurricanes I've went though in my life living in Florida never have I endured anything like this and we are still without power and here that means if your without power your without water and Wednesday morning my husband goes in for a total knee replacement he had the first one done at the beginning of the year he really needs to get this one done because it's a trauma surgeon who it's very hard to get on his surgery list so it looks like we're going to be coming home to no power still we have generator running a power chair for him a fan we do have a pool to get some water from while he is out of work I hope we can continue to pour gas to the generator to have these limited items I promise you one thing after this I will never want to camp again or eat another sandwich it feels like 150 blazing at all times any prayers are greatly appreciated❤
HON, SO SORRY TO READ OF YOUR FAMILY BEING RIGHT IN THE PATH OF THIS HURRICANE. BORN AND RISE IN SOUTH CENTRAL FLORIDA ON THE EAST COAST. I CAN NOT REMEMBER HOW MANY I HAVE BEEN THROUGH THESE 80 YEARS OF LIFE. MY FIRST WAS A VERY BAD ONE 1949. IN 2004 WE HAD --TWO--COME IN ON US IN --ONE MONTH. I KNOW WHAT YOU ARE GOING THROUGH. THIS HOUSE I LIVE IN NOW, HAD TO BE GUTTED AND RE-BUILD. LOTS OF PRAYERS FOR ALL---. THE FIRST THING I START WITH IS GETTING ANYTHING THAT WILL HOLD WATER FILLED. I KEEP FOOD READY THAT DOES NOT HAVE TO BE COOKED STARTING IN MAY. MAKE SURE CLOTHES ARE CLEAN AND GARBAGE IS OUT TO BE PICKED UP.
@mildredlindsey3144 amen and thank you where is surviving and there are definitely people that have more destruction and have it worse so I'm very thankful my only worry is bringing my husband home from this surgery to no power somehow we will get through it
This is my favorite video yet! Thank you Amy! I could listen to your mom wisdom all day. You are the big sister I never had. I have 5 kids and you help me be a more happy easy going person with them! ❤ Thank you! thank you!
As for the curriculum, skipping unnecessary practice is okay, just don’t skip the concepts because it may lay groundwork for later concepts. Much depends on what goals your child may have. If they are college bound, pay more attention to all of it. If they are headed for a trade, gear for that. Delaying concepts until they’re older and more ready, is just fine. Every child learns at their own pace, but be sure you aren’t going to put them in school, if you wait. They won’t pass state tests and may be held back.
In the end of my curriculum I share sample standardized testing questions so you know what type of things are going to be asked...so that they will pass a standardized test
@@amymaryon the Florida tests tend to be brutal. I haven’t seen the latest test, but all of the ones before were really tough and very tricky. Ex. Showing a ruler beneath an object to measure but the ruler starts at 2, or asking the next step in a problem instead of asking for an answer to the question and the complete answer will be a choice. Concepts are pushed, not just computation. Just an FYI. My grand kids go to a Christian school so I don’t have to worry about it since I retired from the public school system and I’m so glad! Good luck with the curriculum and helping the homeschooling moms.
Epson Ecotank. Initial cost is somewhat expensive, but the black ink bottles can print over 4,000 pages. Refills (all colors) are $50. I've been using the bottles that came with the printer over 2 years. Sam's Club carries them. It may be worth the investment for you.
Amy what a great video. My daughter home school's her son, age 9, and I had a hard time accepting that. Now I find it AMAZING at what he has learned that he would not know in public school.❤
I just printed out your curriculum for our school this year and we’re so excited! I’m also using your recommendation for science, Early Elementary Bible and your book lists for History as well. We’re hoping to have an amazing year! We love love love to read and my 9 year old is really hands on so we’re also doing some unit studies for some fun things this year! We moved into our new home last month so last week we were getting things ready! I’ve graduated 3 so far and 5 left to go!
Good morning. As you were talking about unschooling, a great education to track storm, for longitude & latitude. World geography etc.. my mantra always was be prepared and you won't get off guard. I remember in 2004,.Ilived a.little north east of Orlando. Ww got hit with 3 storms that year and some people were caught off guard. You enjoy labor day and I will see ya tomorrow
You never can really know about these storms...they can change like Ian last year. Tampa was on the radar but it went south to Fort Meyers area. We always at the beginning of hurricane season...make sure our vehicles don’t get below half a tank. That’s part of our...just in case! Propane, gas, water...easy foods that we can cook on camp stove. We also run a tank of gas through our generators every few months and use up the old gas before the “season” starts. Every storm is different and very unpredictable. Near the coast is the flooding factor to consider. Blessings for you and yours. 😎💕🙏
I have always prepared for any extreme weather. Living in the north east, its a must. Hurricanes have been less and less, but I have weathered through a few that were a problem. But these days its been tornadoes and blizzards. My rule in preparing, check food stock, buy mostly foods that can be heated by alternative methods, BBQ. Smokers, Blackstone, hibachi etc. First thing you could loose is electric, which us important. Check stick of batteries, candles, be sure power blocks for charging are charged up fully, water most important, charcoal or propane tanks for alternative cooking. I could never understand folks that fill their fridge and freezers before a huge storm. You loose power. You could loose all that food, such a waste. Shelf stable foods are best, be sure you gas up vehicles and generators, secure anything that could fly around outside. And never venture out during the storm, far too many want to go out and watch the storm. I don't like doing anything the day before, stores and gas stations are always packed , 3 days prior too is my rule. I survive with no electricity or heat for 7 days in our 1978 blizzard. Dad cooked on a hibachi, 3 meals a day, he knew how to survive. Think that wS the worst storm till my sons birth in 1997, were we had a major blizzard with no heat or electricity for 4 days. I prepared our family and we did great. Stay safe and head all warnings for major storms.
We hope you have a great day. I wish my Mom homeschooled me. Kindergarten thru 5th grade went to a Catholic school. 6th thru 8th public school. Enjoyed public school way better. I needed speech therapy. Catholic school didn't have any therapy so my Mom had to take me to the public school anyways for an hour a day. We enjoyed your vlog today. We hope you have a fantastic day. ❤❤❤
You should try fried green tomatoes and smoked chicken with white sauce for the state of Alabama. They are so good! I have lived here my whole life, and that is what I would choose as a representation of food here.❤ We have considered homeschooling and this video is so great for my confidence!
We purchased a Brother printer from Sams Club and it prints about 1500 sheets with one ink cartridge. It's only black ink, so this printer doesn't print in color. Great printer!!
Hello Mrs. Amy. We use your curriculum and love it. I just wanted to let you know that on Amazon your 9th grade English text book is listed at $100.00 instead of the $16 and change. Hugs and prayers. Have a blessed week.
I purchased a black ink only printer ! Best decision I made in years ! All I really ever need is black ink …. Ink cartridge last forever! Saves me so much money !
Just think of how your kids learn to walk and talk without being in school! My kids loved 3rd grade Abeka Hidtory! Even my little ones would listen as we read! Except it was in the 80’s!
Do you have a plan for Maxine, during a hurricane? What do I mean…. Bathroom. Bc in a severe weather situation you don’t want to have to go outside. Here’s what we have done and it’s worked well with my little pups. Get a small pool. Inflatable is fine. You could try a kitty litter box. I have the small plastic kind. When a hurricane is coming. Get some sod. 4 pieces should do. It’s cheap. Set it up in your garage. This has been a lifesaver for us. Just something to think about. Before I had the pool, I used a piece of tarp with sod on top
Pickles! Amy, I think I missed the pickle-making. Is it a dill (not sweet) recipe? If you could share/link the recipe you used, I sure would appreciate it. I have tried a few recipes and didn't like the results so I am still on the lookout for another one to try. Or if anyone else has a dill (not sweet) recipe, I'd love to have a crack at it. Thanks! Glad you guys are doing well.
I didn't put the recipe on the screen as I was just trying it out..i would have to go back to the video where we made the last one...it was yummy .first one way too sour
Good morning, I love y'all that homeschool. Parents this year I've talk to are pulling more children out. My neighbor is homeschooling her grandson. He is loving it He does 4 hrs. a day 4 days a week. I believe they flourish more. Get them out of the unruly children. It makes a child calmer.
I homeschooled my only child the same exact way as you described. He was labeled with auditory processing disorder when he was 9, AND we had to retrain him to be left-handed. We dropped everything to retrain his brain. You are so right; they will eventually learn what they need to know. He was never without friends, either. If anything, he was oversocialized. LOL I was told that he would never be able to succeed at much because of his auditory processing disorder. I totally rejected that! He went on to earn his Eagle Scout award for which he was discouraged to pursue because he would fail. He didn't fail! Two weeks ago, on December 17, this same young man graduated from college with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Digital Gaming and Simulation, Summa Cum Laude! I don't think I will have to worry about him succeeding. Kids can overcome and succeed.
I am in Texas. Hurricane Ike shifted and headed directly to us. We went without electricity for 12 days. The gas stations were without, the debit machines were down, the stores were closed and had very little food. Always keep a full tank of gas when in hurricane season. We had water because our supply was on generators and we had hot water because of gas water heater. It was so HOT. For 12 days we had to go out every day and find something to eat. Not fun. Always stay prepared.
Good Morning Amy! We are starting HS, my biggest concern is the transcript. I have seen many examples of them but unsure what all can/should be listed.Thank You for sharing!
Hey guys, how big is your generator.? I think you have 2 freezes and 2 refrigerators, it takes avery big generator. We would run one ref.for a few hours, then switch. when we were going to take a shower we would then plug in the hot water tank. Takes a little while but you get the hang of it
I watch all your videos. Would you mind sharing the link to your winner pickle recipe? I am sure I saved that video but would love to make homemade pickles. We go thru jars of them from the store
You know what. The last one we made we liked...the first one was too sour...I'd have to go back and see what I did. I can't find the recipe..it was online 😞
I film a week behind but made sure to comment as much as i could in the videos that were posted during.the hurricane...you can always send an email...we did get lots of those. Thank you for your kindness
I grew up in an area where bread and milk were always the first aisles to be wiped out when they called for storms (nor-easters especially). We vacation in OBX one year and went on a horse tour. Tour guide laughed at us and said “We here in the OBX clear out the beer and cheese it’s aisles”. Had to laugh! Hope everyone fared well for your first hurricane and prayers for all of those that are still recovering.
My dad who is a Mennonite he went to a one room schoolhouse. He would have 4 hours of school.where my mom who is English would have to go to school for 8 hours a day. My dad homeschool all us kids he would homeschool us for 4 hours a day in homeschool.
Oh my gosh if you are anywhere near the direct path ever for future reference do not listen to Three Days of supplies you need a heck of a lot more than that we did have plenty but OMG you need a lot more than 3 days
ONE THING I HAVE LEARNED IS NEVER -IF POSSIBLE--LET MY CAR GAS TANK GET BELOW --1/2 A TANK--THAT WAY I AM ALWAYS PREPARED IF WE---HAVE TO BUG OUT BECAUSE OF A POWER PLANT PROBLEM OR ANY TYPE OF DANGER POPPING UP---FOR ANY REASON OR STAY AT HOME PREPARED WHILE OTHERS ARE TRING TO GET GAS.
I wish I would have known a lot of this when my girls were younger my oldest daughter went through elementary school with a first grade reading level and the school just blamed me and her dad saying we wasn’t doing anything for her at home
I know the hurricane has passed but other Florida TH-camrs show them putting their patio furniture in their pools because over the years that's where they have been blown into😎
I am the person who learns more when it is on paper. I had a harder time with the spoken teaching. It was like I could not absorb the verbal as quickly or comprehend it. Instead, I could read the text and it was easier for me to follow. I am still traumatized by having dissection in science.

God called us to homeschool 4 years ago and I (admittedly reluctantly) jumped in headfirst. Truly one of the biggest unexpected blessings in our life! I pray your words give hope and encouragement to new homeschoolers or those considering it.
Amy thank you so much for this video I sent it to my daughter she homeschools her daughter and she is so stricked with her.
I've been in Fla since 1961. Been without electricity from 3 days to 16 days depending on the storm.
Praying for your husband surgery
It is terrible..praying for them and for you.... thankful it was not worse in your home...thanks for sharing
@@anetzband1383 wow small world knock on wood be just got power back this evening just in time for his surgery prayers you'll get yours back soon
Amazing job Amy! All of what kids need in 2 to 4 years--so true❤
@@pattidavis8043 feeling blessed to have a solid relationship with my grown ones as they trust me to teach their children.
Try the Epson Eco Tank. It has huge reservoirs for the ink - can last two years before refilling - maybe a little sooner for you but very economical.
Very frightening when a hurricane hits, I remember being in florida when the hurricane hit. It looked like a war zone trees on top of cars roofs missing no power roads impassable. Best to have everything you are going to need stored for when a hurricane will hit because there will always will be one.
If hurricane can lift a semi it will lift your chairs and other things. Better to move them to your garage.
Good afternoon , glad your family stayed safe ,
I have to print a lot of paperwork myself.
Lol exactly...love this
Love this video so much! Thank you for all of the information. Praying you and yours stays safe! Much Love! ❤
Good morning Amy,
For those parents who are thinking of homeschooling or are homeschooling, you did an awesome job of going thru some of your experiences and knowledge of it.
I appreciate todays reading from the Ephesians. amen. 🙏
You and the family have a beautiful and blessed day.
I'm walking into our second year homeschooling our youngest child who will be a 5th grader this year and this was so encouraging. Thank you!
You are welcome..I say relax and enjoy being with your child ..learning will come as it always does
Glad everything went well for you and your family.❤
Hope you are having a great day Amy, see you tomorrow!!❤😎🙏
@mildredlindsey3144 amen and thank you where is surviving and there are definitely people that have more destruction and have it worse so I'm very thankful my only worry is bringing my husband home from this surgery to no power somehow we will get through it
hope you are having a great Labor Day, o' we got hit hard farmers here I can say was very happy.
This is my favorite video yet! Thank you Amy! I could listen to your mom wisdom all day. You are the big sister I never had. I have 5 kids and you help me be a more happy easy going person with them! ❤ Thank you! thank you!
I love Maria Montessori concepts to teaching
Yes there are a few ways you can homeschool in the state of Florida to avoid that :)..thankful for options
Can you share your pickle recipe?💕👍🏻😎
Epson Ecotank. Initial cost is somewhat expensive, but the black ink bottles can print over 4,000 pages. Refills (all colors) are $50. I've been using the bottles that came with the printer over 2 years. Sam's Club carries them. It may be worth the investment for you.
My mom got an encyclopedia set, dictionary, and thesaurus included. By the time we graduated highschool we had gone through it all.
i am praying you and your family will be safe love you guys
Yall be safe 🙏 ❤️ 💕
Amy what a great video. My daughter home school's her son, age 9, and I had a hard time accepting that. Now I find it AMAZING at what he has learned that he would not know in public school.❤
Excellent talk! The best advice you give is talking to your kids, asking questions! Great ideas Amy!
I'm excited for you ☺️
Good morning.
I bought an epson eco tank printer to print my daughter's curriculum. I have used three packs of paper and hardly any ink.
Great video today. Loved the unschooling information. Thank you.
Before I read with my kids I ask what do you know about this subject, what I want to know and what I learned.
Yikes I'll have to look at that. Thank you
This was my favorite vid u have done Amy! Very informative and I completely agree with you on your homeschooling and unschooling views! ❤
I love this so much! Thank you thank you thank you! ❤
Instant ink is wonderful!
Great idea thanks
I saw another TH-cam family that lives in florida and they have a pool, they put all their outdoor furniture in the pool. Just thought I would help.
I was just thinking - if you had a patio umbrella, Greg could move it around and use it to shade his work area as he is doing the tile etc....
This is beautiful ❤️ praise God for a wonderful momma
I found the homeschooling chat SO helpful and insightful! Thank you so much!
You are welcome
do you have the refrigerator pickle recipe. i ordered your cook book a couple weeks ago but it hasn’t been delivered yet, thank you be safe
I'm sorry..i appreciate the words of wisdom. Thank you
@@amymaryon You are most welcome!
Fellow homeschool mom!
Good Morning Amy! We are starting HS, my biggest concern is the transcript. I have seen many examples of them but unsure what all can/should be listed.Thank You for sharing!
Absolutely loved this video. I'm doing the same with my kids in Florida unschooling. 100% agree with you ❤🙏👍 Abundantly Blessed
Amy you should check on a printer that has the echo tank
I wish you could of let us know how you were during the hurricane. A great deal of us we’re worried
My daughter is in 10th I’m not sure when I move if I want her going to regular school in a town we might be moving to so I’m wanting to homeschool
You can do it. There are so many resources these days.
My dad who is a Mennonite he went to a one room schoolhouse. He would have 4 hours of school.where my mom who is English would have to go to school for 8 hours a day. My dad homeschool all us kids he would homeschool us for 4 hours a day in homeschool.
I screamed when 😂he said toilet paper😂😂
Oh my gosh if you are anywhere near the direct path ever for future reference do not listen to Three Days of supplies you need a heck of a lot more than that we did have plenty but OMG you need a lot more than 3 days
We have inverter generators which use less gas and we have went through close to $200 in gas already
Well said... God bless 🙏
I wish I would have known a lot of this when my girls were younger my oldest daughter went through elementary school with a first grade reading level and the school just blamed me and her dad saying we wasn’t doing anything for her at home
I know the hurricane has passed but other Florida TH-camrs show them putting their patio furniture in their pools because over the years that's where they have been blown into😎
Will you need a generator if your house is on solar? Is it for additional power or how does that work?
When I homeschooled we learned that if you don’t push to teach kids to read and let them get to the age they are ready, it won’t take near as long!
Prayers 💕 Hugs
I am the person who learns more when it is on paper. I had a harder time with the spoken teaching. It was like I could not absorb the verbal as quickly or comprehend it. Instead, I could read the text and it was easier for me to follow. I am still traumatized by having dissection in science.
