I bought one of these and I don’t bash extremely hard or anything. Mostly construction area tearing around. The Savage X flux v2 has been good so far. It’s fun and fast, loads of power like you mentioned. Also for me it’s just something different. It drives different then all the “truggy” monsters out there like the Kraton. So ya I do enjoy mine and I haven’t had a lot of trouble. There is an aftermarket company that makes a center diff adapter for these trucks and you can run a Arrma center diff in it. I may do that modification over the winter.
I've had a savage for years and built a few for friends . We all love them and would never give them up. They do have some flaws but I haven't seen a truck yet with one thing or another that could have been done better . Savage4life
Loving hpi and mavricks huge comeback to the rc industry. Still a few more things for the company to get perfect for rtr but great to see my favorite brand back in full swing. Great video Vas
Nice running footage, I never broke a shock shaft, but I've bent 3 or 4. Installed the alloy shocks now, they come with TiNi shock shafts. Haven't gotten a chance to run them yet, but hopefully they prove more durable than the plastic shocks and chrome shafts.
I'm know this is a 3 week old post but is the new Savage X Brushless meant to replace or bring back if you will,a version of the savage HP.? I loved the savage HP and wish I still had mine but that goes for a lot of rc's I once had.
I don't know if it's meant to replace any truck other than the old Savage X. I know the XL is due out soon, but I'm not aware of a HP version to be released.
Nice vid you’ll find that Hpi did the savage a massive injustice by the 3mm shock shafts, really stinks, I would try removing the bump stops that rly stop it from bottoming out in sideways landings that might help, otherwise for upgrades there are other off brands I put in losi lst option from horizon I just bolted them up normally and there’s been no further issues, also try looking up yy madmaxx savage arms they are a super flexy nylon and pretty much can’t break
Was meant to be at the end of June, but it seems it's been pushed back yet again. Not sure when it'll land here now, so might be a couple of months, might be longer...
Important question. Is there any chance that RC Carage will make a comeback on your channel? This was the most entertaining for me and that was why I came back into RC cars , because it was just so much fun to watch. It's what I'm currently doing with my friends because I saw it on you channel. Just bashing doesn't do it for me. It's so boring to just send the thing over a ramp or whatever. Racing is so much more fun, even if it's basher cars, makes it more crazy. I love it.
Same experiences I had with mine. A lot of fun but they really let themselves down with what they didn't fix from the previous versions. Those shocks have been a weak point and the differentials have been a weak point for literally decades.
6S! 8S! 12S! 200SSS! People have forgotten what it is like to enjoy an RC car. Nowadays they just want to hit 300 mph, regardless of driving, lots of voltage and amps everywhere, a car that flies to the moon without crashing on landing, and the bigger the model, the better. But... Their cars, their rules I guess. Don't get me wrong, sir; I like your content, your tips and reviews but it feels pretty strange to see the direction that RC cars hobby has taken.
What a peace of crap - all good if you work if RC store and can maybe can parts cheaper? Yes the clutch is slipping (least yours won’t melt your spur gear) You broke a shock shaft sir because of HPI quality….
I also broke a steering link in the ARRMA Kraton EXB, cracked a chassis in the Team Magic E5, broke a T2T brace support in the Kronos XTR, broke a body post on the Sketer and broke a shock rod end and bent the shock shaft in the Kraton 8S, and all on the same day. Every car has their weak points, some worse than others, but they all have them. I'm not saying the Savage X is better than the others, but labeling it as a "piece of crap" just because of a broken shock shaft is a bit harsh. I've had some bad luck with this truck, that's undeniable, but I wouldn't write it off just yet. It will be back and then we'll see if this trend continues or if my driving gets better. 😏
I don’t often say this but the car is noisy may be the car motor as hpi cars are using metal gears unlike traxxas, anyway nice video but didn’t expect the car to breakdown. 🥲😅

That's awesome to hear, glad you're enjoying it. 🙂

Great truck but I was always bending shafts, nearly every run. Always wanted to upgrade the shocks to something better, ended up selling it instead
Which one better performance and durability then hobao hyper MT+2?
I love those tires
How do u clean the truck from all the dirt, inside and out

Nice run
Awesome!!! how long would you say the batteries last on the savage ? oh and what servo do you recomend? "kgs and speed"
I have the XL v2 and 6700mah 2S lipo's last for about 25-30 minutes. I swapped out the servo for a 25KG PowerHD and that seems to get the job done.
@@VerderfMKII got it thx a lot!

Maybe it is a hand full. But then again it looks nice and nimble too. Like it!
The wild one . Great video. 👍
I'm excited for the xl to release
HPI have not done the savage right. The XL does not deserve a release imo
@@Conceivedintheeyeofasecret its basically the same rc from 20 years ago no real updates

Yes, it should be back this year once daylight savings starts again. 😎
@@AussieRCPlayground awesome
Great run looks fun. Nice power.
Thanks. 👍😎
Had my savage for 15yrs still going strong, but I'm currently converting to electric, finally had enough of the mess and noise of nitro
Try the new Toyan v8 engines, they are scale and have fantastic noise
Well it did butt bounce pretty good bit quite a lively truck
I wish I had somewhere like this near me. The local bmx park has signs saying no RC cars... given that my savage is a nitro it's definitely noisy
Same experiences I had with mine. A lot of fun but they really let themselves down with what they didn't fix from the previous versions. Those shocks have been a weak point and the differentials have been a weak point for literally decades.
Took mine back for refund from
HPI after 6 months. The cars a piece of S***
@@Conceivedintheeyeofasecret definitely has some deficiencies.
@@DoRC basic savage issues? Or new rerelease ones?
@@Nun3zDanny3 Pretty much all the same issues that savages have had for decades.
Doesn’t surprise me for hpi, I’d a savage flux years ago and every outing there was 1 or more bent shock rods

I personally love the direction the hobby is going. Faster and more durable
Best thing about a hobby is doing it the way you want
All i got from this is buy a Hyper MT Plus 2 instead 😂
im not sure weather to get this or the hyper mt plus 2 ..... alot of money to get the wrong one 👍👍
The Hyper is solid, you just need the +1mm rear driveshafts and you should be good to go. Max 6 or similar and a 1600-1750kv motor on 6s and it's 👌👌
@@cossie118bmk well then do not and I repeat do not buy the savage.
thanks for the advice guys 👍👍
The old savage was better
Savij
slow very slow on 6s my corally kronos is faster sneller veel sneller dus 110 km/u
Well seems like Hpi using cheap materials 😑

I think my slipper clutch needed tightening and yes, the metal gears would add to the noise factor. 🙂
