She sings and is her self, she does´nt have to be anybody else. And yes, there are Millions of people out there singing, big suprise that some sound at times like others. She's from Belgium, she speaks flammish, which is original 'old style Dutch with a bit more emotion in it' ;) Selah Sue is just her 'Artist name', she is now 20 years old, and still on university, she's just discovered recently, so a CD would be comming 'hard to get'.

She is amazing. I'm in love with her voice. Hope sh doesn't get 'popified'. Thats what happened to Justin Bieber, even though he has a very strong and unique voice, they just packaged him up and made him sound like every other male R&B singer.
I saw Selah Sue for the first time live at the free 'Sunny Side Up' concert at the Beursschouwbourg opposite my hotel (Marriott) on Sunday 21st Sep 08. I had no idea who she was; she blew me away with her talent and she sang 'Valerie.' No, Selah Sue is not as good a vocalist as Amy Winehouse but she is still a GREAT vocalist AND she plays a mean guitar as she sings, which Winehouse does not. Her Flemish accent is cute yet it does distort the lyrics a bit. The UK and US market need to hear her!
This cover is definitely more reminiscent of the Amy Winehouse cover than the original. She obviously prefers the soulful blues feel to the blue rock feel. I would love to hear more from her.
