- I had a squeak and squeal in the front end of my FJ Cruiser when I closed the doors or hit a bump that would come and go. Recently it has been constant and it DROVE ME NUTS! Well, I was probably nuts before the squeak, but I digress...

I had the same problem with expo1 bar. My solution was putting a home made HDPE bolt cap over it. It stayed on and haven't squeak again after 4 years.
Duct tape will wear off after a very short while!
hmmm I wonder if this could be the sound issue I am having - I have a clicking, like a card in bike spokes, mostly when I start the FJ not so much at speeds nor while I hit bumps. Going on a road trip and really would like a resolution before I travel. Go go google fingers!
Hey bud, I saw on that FB post screenshot you were looking for a fix for the whine sound (perhaps alternator).
Did you find it??
I have a bad whine…Toyota seems to think it may be a damaged bearing in the crankshaft. It isn’t my alternator or pulleys.
