If James gets to the sims 4 version of the house at the same time as dream home decorator gets released, then I kinda hope he makes it as accurate as possible to the other houses, and then uses the new dlc to completely renovate it!
This is an especially interesting idea for a builder like James! The differences and evolution of BB mode compared essentially side by side (as opposed to trying to remember which game offered which features)will be fun to watch. The styles and items offered are a bit like little time capsules, too. Great beginning for Semaj, Iled, and Bowser!
I think it'd be really interesting to see how the budget changes in each game too? Like, you could make a house on a budget of say, 60,000 simoleons in each game (just an example), the houses don't have to be the same. For example, maybe 60,000 in the Sims 1 gets you a mansion, but in the Sims 3 you get a modest middle-class level house or whatever. Idk if that makes sense 😅

I haven't looked at Sims 1 in so long. There are parts to it that are just implanted in my brain and I instantly have a feeling about them. This will be a fun series. I think I loved 2 more, but I had loved Sim City and Sim Tower so much that I was very excited when the first one came out. I didn't have all the expansions and I didn't remember how little content we had. For 2, I remember being able to actually get all the expansion packs as a teenager able to get money. This was so much fun!! Such a fun flashback to playing this game. I used to always want the rug you put in the kids room, as well as the egg-shaped chair that you didn't elect to use. I put those two items in like every sing house I made in the Sims 1.

The sims 1 is so deeply nostalgic for me. My mum was a hardcore simmer, she bought all the “packs” as they came out and seeing the build mode menu, makes me feel things.
Whenever I see someone play Sims 1 I think about just how mind blowing Sims 2 would have been when first released. Maxis did so much between the two games.
the trick to having a nice house in TS1 is picking one favourite angle and sticking to it. Yes once you've done basic furnashing you can go wild and decorate, but it helps a lot.
i honestly think the sims 2 build is so underrated. like yeah you can't flip walls all around and move rooms, but going from sims 1 and then to 2, the build/buy is fantastic.

I was just wanting someone to do this, so thanks! Your house is so cute! My Sims 1 houses were TRASH. It’s funny all the things we forget to include because of bad UI, like alarms and curtains. Lol
Never knew this was a challenge... I already did this on both the PC versions AND the console versions, and on top of that, I attempted to create the same family, and live in each house with them. I tend to use this for my so-called "Sims Days" where I play each game in the series(yes, including the console versions) for roughly an hour and a half each throughout a day. I play the same family and house I built in each game during this day. Now, that's how you celebrate a game series. :)
Omg this gave me vivid flashbacks of always putting my phone close to the kitchen but not too close so my sims could call the fire department quickly without catching on fire themselves 😂
This video was nostalgic. We are the same age and I've been playing since the sims 1 and all I can remember is the heart bed, I used it ALL the time, pools with no ladders and fire places with couches right next to them, no doors 😅😅
I recall building in Sims 1 being BRUTAL. James makes it look easy so either he's really good or I suck at building in Sims1. Probably James is really good.
My parents bought their first computer when flat screens became popular in the very late 90s and as part of the package we received 2 demo games... and Sims 1 was one of them. About a year or 2 later everyone was talking about it and you could buy it in stores. 🙌🏻 I’ve been playing it since it was a free demo!! 🙌🏻
I've been a fan of the sims since the very beginning and while I love the advancements of the series over time and what all we can do (4 still easily has one of the best build modes), but I gotta say... I do miss the buy/build catalogs of sims 1 and things like bustin' out and miss just how colorful and zany they could be and how it seemed to have just a little bit of everything style-wise. And I've really missed just having really weird and really colorful things for sims 4 and in a lot of aspects for sims 3 too. But anyways I love videos like this for showcasing each of the games and just the differences they all have and for showing off just where all this came from and how far the series has come
One of the reasons why I got into Project Zomboid was because it looks so much like Sims 1 :) when my brother first showed it to me, I was hit with nostalgia from when I was in elementary school lol

That's a feature I miss from the first Sims. Being able to use th entire lot, right up to the boundaries with fences without having to resort to debug items and the moveobjects cheat.
"We could make a space station!!!“ the level of excitement 😂
Omg this gave me vivid flashbacks of always putting my phone close to the kitchen but not too close so my sims could call the fire department quickly without catching on fire themselves 😂
please don't skip anything of the building, it's nice to see the differences there too between each game! 🥰😇
Your reaction to the bed-heart (the sims 1) simply wonderful :D
Oooh, I love this concept! How fun!
This just gives me such throwback to sims 1 and all the items I always used to use!!
I think you forgot to add lighting!
Yeah I did haha - i forgot the inside of the house is so bright until you add 1 light 🤣
@@JamesTurnerYT That formulaic 3 windows in any room for maximum brightness if I recall! You remembered the bin though, bonus points.
Oh that was so fun! Can’t wait for the other builds, Semaj!
Ooh yes, I love this concept! 🙌🏼
When you launched sims 1, and the glorious soundtrack hit you! Man, the music in s1 is the best!
"Feels like I am asking for too much." xD Most Sims 4 players
Great way to start the morning!
My first experience of Sims when I was little was playing making magic at my friends house. It’s sparked a love for Sims. I’d love to see a Sims 1 lp.
But anyways I love videos like this for showcasing each of the games and just the differences they all have and for showing off just where all this came from and how far the series has come
Next time try building on each game with the same budget
My only complaint is that this vid is too short
One of the reasons why I got into Project Zomboid was because it looks so much like Sims 1 :) when my brother first showed it to me, I was hit with nostalgia from when I was in elementary school lol
I have this exact same dark green coutch and it’s soooo comfortable I always fell asleep in it at some point
Also my fave James phrase "yea hah hah!"
Love how you just left that random bush on the pavement 😂
