@@innercityprepper Some sure can but I respect when people are open and honest as Eric always has been. Some people will be jealous of any success be it TH-cam, a successful shop, successful relationship etc. You can't control other people and their BS, you can only do your best to live up to your own ethics. morals etc. Eric should be proud that he can reap the rewards of his hard work IMO. Those jealous people should put in the work if they feel they could/should be receiving the same rewards.

That means a lot coming from you Eric. Actually, I see you as the 'real' mechanic. I've been out of it long enough that I'd have to start over again, at least to some degree. Perhaps I am still a 'mechanic', but my passion for fixing cars just isn't there they way it used to be. I LOVE modifying them though. I love projects like my dads truck, and also my Fairmont. Heck, I'd even through the Mini into that group.

You're helping DIYers like me who are just learning what muscle memory is, and how many muscles we have that we didn't know about because they've made themselves known through pain from those muscles gaining memory (and strength).

As a DIYer for the past thirty years and a long time Petrolhead I decided three years ago to work on vehicls as sidework and for something to do when I retire from my full-time job. I took an automotive course to refresh and update my skills and I wanted to gain some more knowledge from real mechanics/techinicians and not apply the DIY/backyard stuff since I would be working on someone else's vehicle. Eric, your channel was the first one on TH-cam I subscribed to. My subscription list has grown exponentially since then, mainly consisting of other professional mechanics/technicians. You've helped me expand my knowledge and have gotten great tips on diagnostic and R-R work. I desire to repair the vehicle properly and not just be a parts changer. Keep up the great work.

Even though I'm a full time mechanic/technician, I still watch you videos and a few others like SMA - It interesting to see how others tackle a problem that may even help me myself at work. I also think mechanics/technicians as a profession, don't get the acknowledgement they deserve. I know a percentage of the general public still see us as 'grease monkeys' and for people who aren't 'book smart' but its so much more than that. There is so much knowledge that is needed to keep up with cars, especially now we are moving away from the ICE. Then you hit so many issues that people just don't see -for example, broken bolts/studs that can take ages to get out, and can really test your patience. I just feel the profession is very under-acknowledged and people need to see 'true' videos showing what we go through on a day to day basis.
Thank you for the time you put in the your videos, it is very appreciated by the many that watch you.

I've been making videos for 8+ years. As I've progressed, I went from pretty generic videos, to very detailed how-to's. With that, you realize how much effort goes into making the videos. Filming, editing, adding extras. It all adds up. You mention the radio, and that is another challenge. Making a video limits your music options. If I can continue the channel growth, I may go full time as well. Thanks for posting.

Now, i've been looking at trying to make a TH-cam channel to supplement some hobbies. That being said, I wanted to thank you (if you read this) and wish you the best of luck. You're killing it.

Sounds like a good gig you got goin on Eric. As long as you’re happy that’s all that matters man. I’ve been a gear head since i was 16. 23 now, still love working on my motorcycles and cars, but i’m also a nurse aid and in nursing school. Not something i would have imagined myself doing when i was 16 but i love what i’m doing.

I totally get it. I work a full time job and started my own channel a year ago. The better the video, the longer it takes to edit and produce. If I put out a 6 minute video, I’ve spent 5-8 hours editing. I can only imagine producing a 30 minute video. Thanks for all you do. I for one greatly appreciate it!!!

  • @Butterffinger5678
    @Butterffinger5678 5 ปีที่แล้ว

I am in your shoes and completely understand how long it takes to produce video content. Even simple, brief effects take time to animate. One of the biggest hurdles is compressing a lot of video into just a few minutes, for me. I’ve had to take hour long cooking demos and cut them down to ten minutes, with the least amount of jump cuts, and still being engaging and entertaining, and having all the important parts, etc. My supervisor doesn’t like how long I take to edit, but it’s because she doesn’t understand how long it really takes to make a perfect video.
Keep up the great work, Eric!

I'm an internet hundredair, and so far, I haven't given up my day job yet.
Thats largely because the time end effort is way more than what people realize, and I'm amazingly lazy.
You have a video production background, and make it look easier than it is, I think its good for people to hear about that at times.
Carry on, and glad you are doing well despite the ADpocalypse events that seem to be happening every 36 minutes or so.....

Eric, thanks for the content you've posted on you tube. Because of that I, a not mechanic have been able to fix what 2 car shops couldn't after charging me combined upwards of $1600 on a 1989 CADILLAC DEVILLE with R12 on the 1st shop, and converted to R134a by the second shop and after 3 new compressors.
The cause of the problem was an obstructed ORIFICE TUBE by metal shaving from the original compressor.
I then bought another Deville 1990 with R12 and a going bad compressor with a leaky system.
The 1989 I fixed back in 2013 and system still going with a used compressor I might add... A Harrison compressor.
The 1990 I converted in Aug 2019 it's June 2020 and no problems...well other than the noisy made by the MADE ABROAD new Compressor I bought.
"With a bit of time, motivation and will power, just about any body can do unimaginable things"
    Thanks Eric.

Love your videos Eric! They have helped me through several vehicle issues over the years, since I choose to drive cheaper older cars than most that also tend to have issues from aging. I’m learning with each new vehicle issue. One of which I’m trying to figure out tonight which is why I’ve been browsing your videos tonight.
