This is actually one of the few mods you can do to a truck that are simple but really increase it's value like damn that looks factory 😂

My next mod project is gettin this safe, but the full length long box to securely store some Freedom toys in.

Toyota should had done this or something similar from the the factory like GM FORD, RAM
I have a 2017 toyota tundra limited, i bought it used and there was one already installed. Don't know if this was a mod tje previous owner made but the 1794 edition that i DID want to get but was 10k more had one in it.
My work truck is a 1794 , and my buddy’s 2017 does not have it , it was a mid from who owned it, Not. A Option. From Toyota.
@@ssam98 ebay has a better underseat box, the one i have is hard plastic and seems to have more space than this one, i keep some hand tools, flares and a first aid kit in it.

Lol brother I don’t have a tundra, but do plan on getting one. I had to give a thumbs up for the effort. I know the feeling of doing Heavy installs without help.
Glad to see I am not the only anal person especially when it comes to my mods on my truck. I get in friend’s trucks and I cringe when I see some of the mods they’ve done. Every fiber of my body wants to redo it for them.
I love my underseat storage. I have the larger bed but smaller rear seats but under my rear seats there is a ton of room. I keep first aid kit, flashlight, small socket kit, a tow rope, jumper cables and various other things. Great to get those stored away out of sight but also not rolling around all over.
Looks great. Wish Toyota would make that storage space standard. Great Install

Maybe use a pry bar to lift seat up at each side to push the box in the groove spot

After wedging the storage box under the seat floor mounts the seat back might rub on the rear cab wall being in a slightly reclined position, If it does you can add shims to the rear seat floor mounts to balance out.

if you need more lockable storage then I guess its worth it hopefully they make another one with the driver side one big compartment and the passenger side the smaller one instead three small compartments

I would also be interested in knowing if the lids rattle against the box when closed and traveling on a bumpy road. It looks like they are metal on metal, and my suspicion is they will rattle.

Bravo Zulu for the install! Well explained, nice job including the after thoughts. My '01 Access Cab came with these, but no lock, can't locate after market ones. I have been considering file cabinet locks as an option, same concept, may need to mod them, but what else is new. Glad to see I'm not the only one anal about precision.

Good looking box and definitely should come stock. I’ll replicate it though and spend 1/3 the amount...geez that’s pricey for such a thing!
This is cool. I've been exclusively searchign for double cabs, because the CrewMax has NO underseat storage (which is crazy to me... Where do you keep your truck stuff --hitches, ratchet straps, small pieces of wood, jumper cables, etc) Glad to see there is an option in to make the CrewMax hold the stuff to actually use your truck.
I made my underseat storage out of a half piece of ply wood and a can of black spray. Save me $200
You could have just put shims under the seat brackets to give you the needed lift for the install.

Nice Andy, glad you got a break in the rain!. Am interested in doing this to my 2020 once I'm sure it'll fit. There may be a remote start antenna wire in the way, at least in my truck. I'm curious if you notice any more road noise?

Great Job, and seeing you struggle helps the common man, I appreciate that, so why not add some sound proof insulation for cars below the box to help with the noise?
I think as you pack it full of stuff it will kind of provide some sound dampening. I know if I could use this in mine it would be full for sure.

Great vid; I'm going to install mine soon, partly because of your video. What if you put the cut out carpet squares in the bottom to help dampen the noise? Note: I'm not finished watching the complete video yet.
EDIT: well that makes sense. I guess they're either on the frame or in the box: same difference.
Has anyone that installed this noticed more road noise? Seems like removing all that foam would make it louder in the cab.

Yeah a big box to fit three rifles, is the best idea like the big three have. When it comes to trucks the big three know what Americans want, Toyota needs to understand the American culture

Hey been watching your videos for like 6 months now. You're one of the influences as to why I bought my 2020 Tundra TRD PRO. Totally love it but storage is killing me! I also have a 4runner so I'm used to having more enclosed storage. I want to order this product and install this on my Tundra but you keep mentioning something that's coming?? When is that video coming? I don't wanna jump the gun without seeing what other great option you might have in mind? By the way, I really appreciate your videos. Will be doing the wireless charger you did and the driver side handle to get in also.

archer maggot It’s been a good truck. It just has a noise coming from the rear that they can’t figure out what it is. It’s been doing it for a couple years now. It hasn’t affected reliability but it is annoying. Other than that all good.
Is your Tundra a Crewmax? Also was there room to ratchet the front bolt tight? It looks like the screw hole was covered by the box frame. Nice job installing, by the way.

My 2009 Crewmax Limited has the movable rear seats so they don't fold up. They fold down. So yea I am bummed I cant use this.

If I was to make my own box, see I am a welding teacher this would be good project for them lol. Would it be possible to make it any deeper than 4 inches, and still have the seats go down properly. I think I can make that at least almost $400 cheaper that what they are asking lol.

Hi Mr Gear Runner, this is Wes again I think I asked this before but wasn't sure . Your thoughts on a mod, I know you change the grill on the front. I was wondering if you ever looked at the Sport Hood with a scoop there's one that has the vents on the side of the scoop that looks like a sport Dodge Ram Hood I think it looks badass. Of course it is pricey my question was have you ever thought about changing the hood. Oh and why am I here the other question was about the TRD sway bar in the rear I've heard positive and negative I haven't came across if you ever tried that on a video or not I know the TRD Pro they recommend not to do it I have the 2014 Limited Crewmax off road TRD with a 3" to 2" leveling kit. Didn't want to do it because I was worried it would make a stiffer ride that wasn't sure. But all in all I enjoy your videos I like to listen to your opinions and I love the Toyota Tundra for my first full size truck. Of course it gets thirsty lol.
MrMiller2980 I haven’t ever thought about changing my hood. I do like how the scoop hoods look though. I have thought about the sway bar but just have never done it. Don’t know why just didn’t feel like my truck needed it I guess.

Not that I can remember, but different trim levels may be different so I would still cut with caution
What speaker box is that, is like to find one.. looks like it is stock.
It’s a factory box. I think the Platinum, 1794, and TRD Pro’s come with them.
Nice video. Would the square cut out pieces have been better as cushions placed underneath the storage unit so that it's not a metal-to-metal contact at the bottom? If the storage unit is not deep enough so that it's not resting on the metal floor, then disregard my question.

Yeah i watched the video ESP put out on the big one. Looks like more work to install but i think its worth the extra storage. Question... i came across a video from someone claiming they were hearing a rubbing noise from their seats making contact with the back of the cab. In the video they say its because the front feet of the seats are elevated slightly when you wedge the storage unit between those feet where it bolts to it. Are you hearing any rubbing noise from this?

Will the removal of insulation increase the road noise inside the cab?
How is the sound coming from that area? I’m sure the styrofoam dampens road noise a lot. Any noticeable change?

Great video - Thanks! One question is about the center cut-out area. I saw on another video installing a plastic (non-lockable) storage unit (th-cam.com/video/ksQh10t1Dw8/w-d-xo.html) that there was wire with a metal harness running along the front of the center cut-out area which is related to the keyless entry system. I didn't see the wire/harness on your video. I'm wondering if this wire and metal harness will interfere with the installation of the center box of the storage system. Did you not find that in your Tundra?

I actually store a lot of stuff in these that was taking up a lot of room in the floor. Toyota did the stupidest thing in the world when they left that hump under the seat
