I have already done my stencil drawer. In fact, you did yours in a similar fashion. The trick is to put things back in the same order. I am not great at that, but I am getting better, lol
Ratchet Up Your Art, found you through the collaboration decluttering craft spaces with Dana K. White. Suggestion, less of the coach or maybe her in a smaller view in your video, more of what you are doing. I was looking forward to seeing your process as I too have way too many stencils. Good luck to you in your decluttering process.
Yes, that is a thought; but I would think it would depend on your drawer, I could see it being helpful if your stencils were "upright" and the paper was acting like a divider; but the way my drawer is configured, I could see ME just not using the paper and then the papers just pile up. However, I do believe that whatever system is utilized the best one is the one that works for the artist and how they create art. (i.e. there is no right or wrong way) 😍
Have most of mine in pocket protectors. Need to sort and separate ones that get tangled. I also have ones unopened. I have larger tasks to tackle 1st I lobe gelli printing. I used to do it with my elementary art club students ( retired art teacher)
My stencil collection is not as vast as yours (goal?). I store mine on a metal shower hook that closes, in order of size, and can flip through them til I remove the one I want. The collection hangs on a hook.
@keener57 yes, I have tried that solution before, I found over time when my solution got to big that I needed a new solution..I have been using this one for a while..there are so many ways to organize them.. the best solution is the one that works for you 🥰
Great job! Could you put the large stencils that are in page protectors into manila file folders instead? I have a ton of gelli printing supplies and it is a fairly new craft for me so I don't have a home for the items yet.
Yes, you could put them in folders or separate them by manufacture or size, depending on how it works for you. Since I have a shallow drawer, I put mine by size, larger first then smaller ones on top. If I had a deep drawer, I would use folders or a separator and stand them more upright. Use what you have that makes sense for you!
😂 "Grungy goodness" For crafters like this, it's hard to predict what stencil shapes you'll want to use in the future as trends change, you change, etc. There was a certain stencil type (adhesive) that was an easy choice to donate though.
Loved that the 2 of you discussed different places to donate art/craft supplies!
Thanks Cara, I thought it was helpful b/c I was thinking where am I going to donate stuff I don't use.
Kay was very interactive with Sheri, she did an excellent job.

Thank you so much! I am glad you liked it
Could you just put sheets between the tangle stencils? Maybe parchment?
Yes, you could, I thought the page protectors would keep them more contained.
@RatchetUpYourArt definitely. I was thinking it might be less hassle than slipping them in and out
