  • New weekly art journal content! The theme for June is "stamp carving/printing". A great versatile technique as an accent, layering, adding texture, pattern....
    Week 4. June 26th, 2024

    Wow! Love the print…I can imagine doing leaf prints ( just because they are a personal fav) and all sorts! The sort of doodle type stamps can be quite expensive so I really do appreciate this!! Thank you! 💕💕

      Yes - it's super satisfying to make the stamps yourself - and you can always get what you need, on time, on the cheap!

    Love it! Was that blue acrylic you used on stamps in the project in your journal?

    • @JenniferDaviesReazor
      @JenniferDaviesReazor  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The first was Pthalo green ( Jerry's Art-a-rama store brand SOHO) the second was a premixed aqua from a set. (Dick Blick) but any acrylic will do. I like regular body acrylic with the brayer. Fluid acrylics are too... fluid for stamping IMO.

    Good job on this. I also love the organic feel of the stamps you created. I'm not sure why people feel the need to post negative comments. If you don't like what you see, there's no reason to watch. Simply move on.

    I love the rough edges you get when you’re using with the styrofoam. It looks very organic.

      Totally! If you have them, use them! When I taught full time - we never had the gadgets, so I tend to still do things :"old school" LOL.

    I had to watch this again because I recently had a suggestion that I help teach some kid crafters…I don’t have much experience with kids but it might be fun…it sounds like you may be a teacher Jennifer, is that true? And do you have other child appropriate craft things on your channel?? TYSM! Really enjoyed it again!!

      Yes Donna - 15 years in the public school classroom, and an additional 15 years teaching at galleries/arts centers. I am moving away from that now - so there wont be any specifically child - oriented videos. Although many techniques are adaptable! Thanks for touching base!

    What kind of colored pencils did you use? I like how you just added water and it became like water color. (I'm new to this kind of art.)

      @@donnakaymaltese9080 Thanks for watching! My water soluble colored pencils are “Inktense” by Derwent. My favorite “regular “ brand is Berol Prismacolor. But crayola brand are decent too!

    Lovely. You could use a fine knitting needle to create finer lines. Find one that is rounded and not too pointed. Goodwill shoule should have something if you don't have any. Thanks for sharing. xoxo

    Love. This! What ink pad should I use to stamp on fabric?

    • @JenniferDaviesReazor
      @JenniferDaviesReazor  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I would try the Archival ink stamps first. That ink is permanent/waterproof. But... you may have better results with acrylic paint and a brayer - paint will give you a "juicier" stamp and better coverage.

    • @JenniferDaviesReazor

    suggestion for editing: say "I'm going to cut these out", pause the recording, and start recording again by showing the circles already cut out & saying "that's done" instead of making us watch that step. makes the post shorter & saves us having to watch what we obviously already know how to do. also, have your tools already out & ready instead of making us wait while you search for this & that. those unnecessary delays make me "move on to better edited posts" instead of choosing to subscribe. the hints & suggestions may be just what I want/need, but "presentation is everything" & the lack of proper editing interferes with the message getting thru.

      You know, as nicely as I can, because I am assuming that you actually do like the content, I think that she did speed up the video in lots of places. Sometimes it is more helpful to just be supportive and perhaps you tap the fast forward button without expecting our sweet creators to be perfect? You probably did mean your suggestion as helpful but, on your side, maybe ask yourself if it is necessary and focus on the great ideas.💕💕
