@@Pinskinator Oh I totally agree. I think they did a great job of developing Ricky's character. He has fantastic dialogue and the soundtrack really doesn't capture it. I'm just saying I find it funny (even if it makes sense) that he was so close to being self aware. I feel like "really close to being self aware" sums up Ricky pretty well. He's super introspective and intelligent, but he is still just so awkward.

many have critiques about how Ricky’s disability is portrayed in the musical, and some are valid, but something I don’t think is appreciated is how open Ricky is with his sexuality. He isn’t infantilized nor is it treated as the butt of a joke, which is something I haven’t even seen before and I think is a great stride in representation.
Well other then ocean who doesn’t think Ricky should know what porn is but that gives me more energy of her being disgusted by porn in general.

It’s unlikely that other then the choir he interacts a lot with non disabled peers, and most parents wouldn’t feel the need to have the porn conversation with a child that is unlikely to learn about it himself. He definitely would get sexual urges if that’s how he is but him knowing the concept of porn is surprising.

I first listened to this song at 3 am and i got all the way through but i had zoned out thinking i was in a fever dream. I turned my phone off after this and rewatched it when i had woken up a bit more just to make sure my sleep deprived brain didn’t produce a natural acid trip 😅
