Xi Jinping May Be The World's Most Powerful Leader

  • China's congress scrapped presidential term limits from the constitution, a move that sets up President Xi Jinping to rule indefinitely and a sign it is returning to a one-man rule system.
Government censors on social media have cracked down on criticism of removing term limits, removing political memes and scrubbing mentions of words like "king" or "emperor."
Since 2013 when Xi Jinping came into power, he's consolidated his power through high-profile anti-corruption drives, a cult of personality and by amassing global influence through trade. He set out an ambitious vision for the way forward at the Communist Party's 19th Congress last October: for China to become a global superpower.

Singapore is also, so are you willing to live in the slums in India, or are you willing to live in a prosperous Singapore? Ha-ha. The so-called democracy chooses the president through talk show, and China chooses the president according to its economic performance. In a very simple contrast, the speech could only choose the speaker , not the doer. The biggest drawback of Western democracy is inefficiency. What if you become president in US?Your rival party beats you.you want to build roads and boost the internal economy? They bought ovet the environmental protection society and the humane society, and said that you're destroying the environment, and that's what happened.

The only natural resources that China lacks are modern ones, oil & gas.

    • @sithjohn80
      @sithjohn80 6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

Yeah the only reason why he may be more "singularly powerful" than a US President would be because of the iron fist style of ruling his government has over a majority of Chinese people and the media in China. Thankfully the US has measures and balances set in place to prevent rapid power consolidation by any one president. The system can be brutally slow, but in this case it's a good thing. In terms of power on a global scale as well as with state backing, the US President still holds far more power than the Chinese President does without a doubt. America can project power around the globe far more effectively than the Chinese can, especially if the executive branch has strong backing. However, it is crucial to realize that while this is the reality now, it might not be in the next 25-50 years or sooner if Americans are not careful. The Chinese are a tough and resilient people with a rich history, and they have the knowledge and skill to make great advances in the coming decades if they are able to establish a few key things. In my opinion, they pose the greatest threat to potentially overtaking the US in the long term. The US needs to remain aware of this situation and be on top of things in the coming decades to ensure it stays ahead.

I believe more than Government citizens of any Country are responsible for growth and development of their land. Chinese people are very clever and smart,They instead of riding the trend create some business out it. Yes many bad things tend to happen in a regime and happens with China too but ignoring those things,China is number one.
We should learn from them,Like how from being Oppressed with Japanese in Pre Ww2 era they still made to world's most powerful and Innovation hub.

As a Canadian who has traveled to China, I have got to say that there is a whole lot going right in China. I was amazed to find out that they are far into the future compared with Canada. My state run broadcaster, CBC, never told me about that.
Free speech is a massive issue there though. Well I mean the lack of it.
The food is amazing, the prices are great and the people were so welcoming!
All in all I am glad to have both Washington and Beijing as superpowers because they both have some excellent sides to their way of ruling and they both have horrific sides as well. I want to have at least 2 super powers to counter balance each other. China needs to rise even more to bring US into a more peaceful and productive way of leading.
USA needs the first and second amendments, free speech and the right to bear arms in order to keep their version of Mao or Hitler at bay. And no Trump is not Hitler. The courts and the media are still not under his command. Religious freedom is still in effect. I really fear that Americans will throw away their very important freedoms because the media and the DNC insiders really want to limit the freedom of speech and the right to bear arms.
My tip is to never trust your government. They have proven that they are not looking out for your best interest, particularly the ones giving our "freebies"

Unlike Western civilization, we Chinese have one of the world's oldest and longest running civilization and we intended to preserve our tradition. There are many things in our culture Westerners don't and wouldn't understand. We don't mock our leaders, we respect and honors them. Throughout my entire life, I have no love for communist, until President Xi appeared on the scene as the president of China. I made the 180 degrees turn when more than 500 million people were lifted out of extreme poverty as China poverty rate fell from 88 percent to 6.5 percent. The number of people lifted out of extreme poverty was more than the entire population of the United States and Mexico combined. By the way, you can add an additional 2 more Central American countries' populations and that's about the size of people President Xi lifted out of extreme poverty. My God, how can I not respect and honor such a leader? You tell me, what other leaders have done anything so endearing and monumental for his or her country? That is the reason the president is elected for life and the reason the Chinese people endorse President Xi? Understand. my friends?

There's no problem with respecting your leader, but nobody should be beyond criticism. If a leader does something wrong, everybody should acknowledge that it was wrong no matter how great the leader is, and the leader should try his best to correct it. A crime is a crime no matter who did it. Excluding powerful people from that rule breeds corruption, arrogance, indifference, etc.Without criticism there would be no one to correct a powerful man if he does something wrong. He would simply keep on doing it. That includes men with originally good intentions and has done good things in the past. It corrupts them. I hope you now see why we do not like the CCP's censoring.

I don’t see how he has more influence then the American President

Because he is the leader of an authoritarian nation of 2 billion citizen and can lead for life, while an american president needs approval of the house and senate to get things done and only has 8 years at most to lead. on top of that China is rapidly overtaking the US economically and technologically as well

Because he is president for life, he can plan Chinese development for the next 30 years, in that time China will overtake the us economically

Because you regard the west as the whole world. The west,or the developed countries only make up 10% of the world population. The rest, or the developing countries can't make their voice loud enough to be heard. However, which one do you think is more likely to be their friend, China or the US?
