I follow you in a race and on TH-cam, c'est moi le numéro 12 au début de la vidéo qui resserre ses patins juste avant le départ. Belle vidéo de cette magnifique course, merci pour tes partages et d'aider à médiatiser notre sport !
I come from cycling and used to practice skating in the off season. Now I just cycle and skate for fun (I am old) and when I can commute with skates because I hate to leave a $2000 bike locked at a pole, so I know quite little about skating. Still, I wonder why such a huge difference in distance between the two disciplines. Very similar tactics, similar speed average and on ice there is (or at least there was because of temperature change...sic) the Elfstedentocht of 200K, still skaters speak of a Marathon as a long race and for a cyclist a 100K is just a bit more than Criterium racing.
yes we would love longer race too...but not so easy to organise it seems...and culture is a bit different...we need more mass also at start of races so too long race can scare a bit few people...but in fact in longer races speed is lower so it more accessible most of the time
Wow...you answered in just 8', that was the fastest answer I ever had from anyone who has a channel on TH-cam, not just fast on skates, thanks! As for the distances, in the 14/15 y.o. category in cycling you get already at the 100K distance and usually it is made in circuits exactly for the reason that organising a point to point race is so much harder. When I was that age if you got lapped you were out from the race. Sure, that's not a format for "popular" races where many different categories and age groups race together but I am sure that now with timing chips it is not difficult to organize something.
The thing is not about being "long" in itself but more to have a long single track (one lap of 103km). And indeed organizing such a thing is really hard in terms of security and road management... except if you are Tour De France and can close the roads with police and so on... this is why we don't have so many events of this type for inline skating.
ouais j'avais pas assez de batterie pour tout enregistrer ...donc j'ai du m'adapter techniquement meme avec 2 caméras…. du coup j'ai du faire un montage….car dans tous les cas j'ai pas tout
The Hundertfive in Grossräschen is 2 km longer. 105 km. The next race date is 07.07.2018, 16:00 o'clock. More Information on the original site www.seenland100.de
For this long race, did you periodically turn your Go Pro off and on to conserve batteries? I'm planning to make a video for next year's Athens to Atlanta Road Skate, which is 88 miles, and was wondering what the best method would be for filming during the event. Also, have you ever tried to film a point to point race with a drone? I think this would be pretty cool, but logistically quite difficult with the limited battery life of a drone. A good friend of mine builds racing quadcopters that could easily take footage close to the skaters as they race (although maybe this would be distracting for the skaters?)
to fill this long race i start my GoPro from the race and let it run as long as possible...then i had another little camera to take few footage from the end of the race to complete a bit a finish the story….that is why video from the end of Worth cause i hold a go pro in the hand. I should have turn the main camera off sometimes but its not easy to do during the race. May be easier in athen to atlanta. May be best it too have 2 GoPro ready and change camera on the support after 1h20 wich seems to be the limit when i use fullHD stabilisation and GPS mode….or may be 3 camera^^ ...or just replace the battery but then need to take camera off the protection open it change baterry etc.etc... drone to follow in a race is almost impossible for safety Reason and for battery reason^^
@@ThePascalbriand thanks for the response! I can see how turning the camera off and on during a race would be difficult since you have to concentrate on skating. When I'm skating, I slow down quite a bit even when trying to take a sip from my water bottle
Make a honest video about Doping in profi and amateur Inline speed skating races. I guess there is very much to report and expose, certainly not less than in cycling races. As we all know you were on top of the sport wich means you are a top source.
Hi Senor Gonzales… i Don't know much about this… all i can tell is that in my main years i Don't think there was clear doping. May be a little but i dont think top athlete were dopped. Nowadays, i still think its very clean. Performance are made by technical skater mainly… I still think we are Lucky in this area even if it's probably not 100% clean but we are far from some olympici sport i guess. It never easy to say and guess.
Ice speed skating was and still is a sport where cheating with doping is very very likely. And we all know the top athletes switching from ice to ashpalt. As we all also know technique drops as soon as endurance and strength get used up in a race or a game like football. Berlin Marathon running winner admitted Doping in the past. Berlin Marathon skating winner should do the same. Btw i dont think Bart Swings is a clean athlete.
Well done Pascal, looks like an amazing race, will try next year!
