  • Hello Nerds!!! Today we are talking about the four levels of protein structure!
The primary structure of proteins is a linear sequence of amino acids linked by peptide bonds.
The secondary structure of proteins arises from the hydrogen bonds formed between atoms of the polypeptide backbone. This results in either a beta sheet or a double helix.
The Tertiary structure arises from further folding of the secondary structure of the proteins from forces such as hydrogen bonds, disulfide linkages, and Van Der Waals attractions.
The Quaternary structure arises from the arrangement of multiple protein subunits into a multi-subunit complex using hydrogen bonds, ionic bonds, dispersion forces, disulfide linkages, and more.
    Happy Studying!!!
