Funny enough, Whisperwood Elemental being sacrificed after the first time COULD count for its own ability because the rest of the loop are triggers that can be resolved before the sac ability resolves, granting the "new" Elemental the death trigger. The loop could've manifested indefinitely at instant speed and, as the list runs Kheru Spellsnatcher, he could just stop once that was manifested then flip it with Zimone to counter Massacre Girl. Jump Scare is ridiculous out of the box.
I doubted you, but after a reread, yeah. That's so nuts, man. He also had access to more mana with that loop, too, if he deigned to tap the elemental before flipping with Zimone.

@@hatchell18 Whisperwood grants you the player, "If a face-up creature dies, manifest til end of turn," basically. Now, because Whisperwood died via its sacrifice, Yedora triggers. If a non-token creature dies, you may return it face-down as a Forest Land. When that "Forest Land" enters, it triggers Zimone's landfall. Zimone's trigger flips one face-down card face up, including that face-down land. It's whisperwood again! Now, sacrificing whisperwood *again* gives you another stack of "If a face-up creature dies, manifest til end of turn." It's from a different source *technically* and is an entirely different instance of the ability. So when Whisperwood 2 dies, it should benefit from the first one's sacrifice. In the game, they misinterpret Whisperwood as something akin to "Creatures you control gain 'when this creature dies, manifest' til end of turn." which is subtly different. Whisperwood applies the effect to the player.

@@hatchell18 The effect stacks the more times you use it. Sacrifice Whisperwood and it comes back as a face-down Forest because of Yedora. Zimone sees it as a land entering, triggering her ability to turn a face-down card. You flip face-up the face-down Forest (aka Whisperwood) then you can redo the loop.

Can’t decide if I should change the deck to work with this commander, and keep vannifar in the 99, or put this new zimone in the 99. Zimone can flip over anything for free multiple times a turn if you can keep the landfall triggers coming, and she can pop off combo wise etc, with the downside being you’re forced to manifest dread each turn, you have less control over what you manifest each turn, and you’re also forced to make this more into being a landfall deck. Vannifar has to rely on blink effects and other creatures like displacer kitten or thassa etc to flip things, but she has the upside of giving you full control over when you manifest, and she lets you manifest whatever you want from your hand instead of the top of your library. She doesn’t require any landfall triggers and she can also buff every face down creature you have on top of that. So what’s better? You can still consistently flip things over if you build vannifar correctly. There’s so many blue instant blink cards, plenty of creatures and artifacts/enchantments that blink, and multiple ways to take advantage of her being able to manifest things from the hand. But this new zimone can flip things even easier and manifest way more than 1 thing by herself each turn, at the loss of control etc.
I've played this deck twice and both have shown up each time. it could be from the manifest dread mechanic which really does help get through your deck faster than you'd think.
This looks like one the most challenging stack games I've seen in a game of magic. If I wasn't sober I don't know if I'd be able to do that! Props to you folks for following through with it!
Valgavoth is BY FAR the most fair of these commanders, and BY FAR the most fair precon despite being the big bad lol somehow they made the big scary demon the guy the underdog. (Shae - amazing massacre girl, well done. one of my favorite cards of all time)
I wanted to get this deck but I don’t know if I do anymore after watching gameplay. People target it and have targeted me in the past for small incremental damage when I’m not the threat. I’m probably getting the Zimone deck but still on the fence about the rakdos one

Not being able to tell old and new cards apart is completely understandable after all the reprints and hundreds of different art styles, hardly anyone can get through that anymore. Thanks for the good show covertgocrew
@caidenfelkey6328 yeah it was a really good upgrade to the Strefan vampire precon for extra blood tokens at the end of turn 2nd only to Sanctum of Stonefangs and the flip cryptolith something mana rock that pings everybody when tapped for mana.
Whats crazy about that loop is the precon comes with kheru spellsnatcher and temur warshaman. So if you wanted to you can go thru ur deck to get all of those and counter whatever you want while also taking out creatures. Add a self sacking creature like Sakura tribe elder which is also in the deck and it gets even crazier.
I have a suggestion for the Zimone player: get a Paranormal Analyst for that deck. It states that while on the field, when you manifest dread, take a card that went to the graveyard via said effect and put it in your hand. If you got a very good card alongside a sorcery or an instant, Jumpscare has some good ones, put the permanent face down and then you can put that nonpermanent in your hand instead. Just make sure you have Reliquary Tower or Body of Knowledge as you will go over 7 cards doing this.
Commander House Party literally set up Zimone, Yedora, Steve loop and was like woops this gets all 18 basics out of my deck, but that wouldn't be a fun game so I won't.
Just gonna point this out but it is still very possible to get royally screwed by RNGesus. It is a 99 card deck so shit is bound to happen. This actually happened during the last game I played. Very good starting hand with a few lands and both Rampant Growth and Cultivate. First 2 manifests gave Arcane Signet and Ashaya...and then Mr. Infect wiped the board with a Saga chapter and then wiped me and the guy next to me with a 9 power Infect creature. I didn't get anything to defend in time.
sooooo, 3-or 4th early Duskmourn gameplay i watch, and that manifest dread deck have litterly gotten this combo off decently early in every single on of the games, lol gg-wp have fun guys ^^
My friends and i did a precon game. I love how the Valgavoth deck got stopped nearly every time. First Commander Deck I have ever gotten, and it steamrolled the other 3 decks of Duskmourn my friends had gotten.😂
I've been brewing a Yedora deck for a while, but it was just a bit clunky to get what I wanted to accomplish done. But man, some of these Duskmourn cards can really fuel the gas for the deck. I'm hyped.
i went infinite with creative energy from mh3 out of the box too.. basically Aethergeode Miner+ any ETB energy generator like Aetherstorm Roc, Aether Refinery, Decoction Module, or Izzet Generatorium.. then something to use the energy on, like Scurry of Gremlins, Lightning Runner, or Whirler Virtuoso.. then just swing with a million hasty thopters, or take a lot of extra combat steps
My brother was using the Zimone deck. He had 22 lands. Fun Fact: Manifest Creatures aren't Tokens. So each manifested creature also causes manifest, so the very first set of Manifest that died to Massacre Girl each manifests 4
@@victhefoxygamer I'm not sure what the confusion is here. They don't manifest more because they're not applicable to the elemental's ability. The ability in question only affects non-token face-up creatures. Manifests are non-token, but they're face-down so they don't apply.
that deck is really cool but it's GARBAGE compared to the other 3. like... actually garbage. the zimone one is unreal at value, the aminatou one is a wildly powerful pillowfort deck and the aggressive stompyness of winter is crazy. valgavoths deck isn't bad it's just not even close to the other 3 at all if they get any chance to come online and they do that pretty easily.
Guys, got a question. You sure that with the jump scare zimone, you are able to summon tokens using mana cards so when they die the won’t leave the play since they are mana. I think that’s not allowed.
The card itself has miracle it doesn't need Aminatou. Wizards put other miracle cards in the deck too b/c the deck runs a lot of top deck manipulation which works really well with miracle.

Wait, doesn't sacrificing Whisperwood Elemental the first time put a second -1/-1 trigger on the stack? Everything is -2/-2 by the time that the Whisperwood Elemental comes back the first time. Then -3/-3, then -4/-4, which stops the loop... Unless this is all happening on the stack BEFORE Massacre Girl's ETB resolves... Unless he was responding to Massacre Girl *being cast* on the stack.
I'm confused here - he got 4 triggers per so when the 4 manifests died, shouldn't he have gotten 16 forests, doing 1 at a time as each manifest dread uses 2 cards. He also could've turned any non-creatures over if he wished.
It only triggers on face up cards, so the manifests don't bring in more manifests. It's also regular manifest and not manifest dread on that card. That difference is probably going to become a thing to look out for during games, it's an easy mistake to make.
Also, Whisperwood Elemental adds an effects on the creatures themselves, so creatures that enters after he's been sacrificed won't manifest. So the 4 manifested creatures wouldn't have manifested anything even if Blake had turned them face-up.
Every face-down card that hits the bin should have been revealed (same when the game ends). All those Yedora forests made from manifests for example. Anyone going to an event should watch out not to make that mistake, since it can result in a game loss. I think thats important to mention.

I haven't watched it that many times, but if you're talking about what I think you're talking about - Massacre Girl's trigger puts a -1/-1 counter on everything for EACH creature that dies that turn. So when multiple creatures die at once, that puts multiple Massacre Girl triggers on the stack. Sometimes they resolved one of the triggers and nothing died, but there were still more triggers on the stack because several creatures had died previously and they were resolving the triggers one at a time.
Dosent yedora removes the effects of cards that entertain cus of him? And they can’t get flip cus there just forest they lose all other stuff you would only get the landfalls you can’t flip stuff if it dosent have any other stuff under it yedora removes the stuff when they enter

Every one of these precon Duskmourn games that I've seen, Zimone does great and the Demon deck does nothing... that commander seems so weak. It only triggers on the active player's turn and only once. The backup commander seems more sluggy, which might be better.
From the commander rules: "If a commander would be put into its owner’s hand or library from anywhere, its owner may put it into the command zone instead. This replacement effect may apply more than once to the same event."

The manifested creatures dying while yedora is out would hit the graveyard before becoming forests, therefore they should get revealed
Furthermore don't manifest creatures count as no token creatures? So they should have been affected by the elemental to, no?

If Blake waited, he could not infinite, but use steve to grab every basic or at least a lot of basic lands from the deck using the same loop.

Terminus has miracle inherently, no need for Aminatu to be out.
The card itself has miracle it doesn't need Aminatou. Wizards put other miracle cards in the deck too b/c the deck runs a lot of top deck manipulation which works really well with miracle.
I hope culling will be reprinted. Loved to play golgari control back in good old meta

Note quite how Massacre girl works, she generates new triggers as things die

Wait, doesn't sacrificing Whisperwood Elemental the first time put a second -1/-1 trigger on the stack? Everything is -2/-2 by the time that the Whisperwood Elemental comes back the first time. Then -3/-3, then -4/-4, which stops the loop... Unless this is all happening on the stack BEFORE Massacre Girl's ETB resolves... Unless he was responding to Massacre Girl *being cast* on the stack.
Blake specifically answered the cast and not the ETB. So no.

tbh blood artist does almost nothing with massacre girl, it dies immediately with just the 1 toughness creatures.
I'm confused here - he got 4 triggers per so when the 4 manifests died, shouldn't he have gotten 16 forests, doing 1 at a time as each manifest dread uses 2 cards.
He also could've turned any non-creatures over if he wished.
It only triggers on face up cards, so the manifests don't bring in more manifests. It's also regular manifest and not manifest dread on that card. That difference is probably going to become a thing to look out for during games, it's an easy mistake to make.
Also, Whisperwood Elemental adds an effects on the creatures themselves, so creatures that enters after he's been sacrificed won't manifest.
So the 4 manifested creatures wouldn't have manifested anything even if Blake had turned them face-up.

Assuming you're referring to the lands he got off Yavimaya elder those went to his hand not the battlefield.
Every face-down card that hits the bin should have been revealed (same when the game ends). All those Yedora forests made from manifests for example. Anyone going to an event should watch out not to make that mistake, since it can result in a game loss.

Unless I missed something, which I rewatched it like 10 times. The massacre girl loop ended twice and they kept adding -1/-1 counters lol
I haven't watched it that many times, but if you're talking about what I think you're talking about - Massacre Girl's trigger puts a -1/-1 counter on everything for EACH creature that dies that turn. So when multiple creatures die at once, that puts multiple Massacre Girl triggers on the stack. Sometimes they resolved one of the triggers and nothing died, but there were still more triggers on the stack because several creatures had died previously and they were resolving the triggers one at a time.

Dosent yedora removes the effects of cards that entertain cus of him? And they can’t get flip cus there just forest they lose all other stuff you would only get the landfalls you can’t flip stuff if it dosent have any other stuff under it yedora removes the stuff when they enter
no they are still face down cards. In fact if one of them had morph or disguise you could even pay that cost to flip them up.

Every one of these precon Duskmourn games that I've seen, Zimone does great and the Demon deck does nothing... that commander seems so weak. It only triggers on the active player's turn and only once. The backup commander seems more sluggy, which might be better.

From the commander rules: "If a commander would be put into its owner’s hand or library from anywhere, its owner may put it into the command zone instead. This replacement effect may apply more than once to the same event."
