We love our new Santa Fe’. We bought it at the right time in 2020. We both find it Very quiet, and great riding. We couldn’t beat the warranty here in the states and a lot more vehicle then the competition. Don’t feel cheap, and safety features were standard on our model. Love it.

I'd prefer the 2.2 litre diesel. Good to see proper buttons rather than having to scroll through the bloody touchscreen menus just to switch on the ventilated seats or the heated steering wheel! Well done Hyundai. Good warranty too.

Answering the question about the amount of buttons in the center console. I think the number is just right. If you take a step back, it looks just like a touch screen design would look like, but better because it is easier to use. Having a car that only has a BIG touch screen, I appreciate this solution. What I realized while driving my car is if you recalibrate yourself and accept you need more time to adjust something, it gets easier and less frustrating. Back to Santa Fe, I wouldn’t mind to lose the gear selector from that area. Design wise it doesn’t belong there.

I think the Santa Fe is an example of a well-made facelift - even though it's not a new generation, it feels so thanks to changes in a lot of aspects of the car. I actually love the center console - even though it has a lot of buttons, it looks modern and is something we will probably miss in a few years :)

I test drove one. Overall the interior is nice and it goes reasonbly well. Unfortunately the suspension was very bouncy, and the rear seats, while offering plenty of knee room, are only fit to seat two people comfortably.

I bought the Santa Fe caliphraphy trim in California. I call it the anti-Tesla. Lololol. If you need anything there is a button. No fooling around. After 5 months and 5,000 miles we are 100% happy. The Koreans are at the top of their game.

Agree. Most 2022 new cars use a large center screen to control the various functions which can be outright dangerous while driving due to the distraction it creates.

Good review, as usual. I agree on the wording. This being "boring" is the feature I like most in this car. It's such a relaxing feeling I don't wanna miss anymore 😌. I do like the interior and having a button for everything was the USP for me. The Sorento isn't bad but looks cheap in the interior. And of course Diesel is all the way to go. Had a test drive with both, for this kind of car it's a no brainer.

That has to be one of THE best designed centre consoles I’ve ever seen. Simple fantastic logical layout of all the buttons, and it’s only the buttons you really need. So I’d say it’s exactly right. Not sure about the dial graphics though changing colour?

I am in the dilemma with what to replace the 2016 Q7. With a big family I check things like iso fixes in the 3rd row, opening for the 3rd row and space with 3 row up. 3 zone climate is a win for the Germans. What this attracts me is PHEV with keeping the 3 rows (only XC90 has that). Will test drive the SantaFe PHEV next weekend and will be able to say more.

I drive this new SantaFe model for 1 year, 35.000km 2.2 Diesel. Perfect car. Bought it after having lot's of German cars, Audi, BMW, VW, even had Opel Omega C long time ago then it was good car. Last German cr was VW Arteon Rline 2.0 Diesel. Never had that bad car as VW Arteon - everything done wrongly, no noise isolation, wheels are bumping on each part of road, dynaudio sound systems not bad, but resonance in car is very bad, all parts inside car are shaking, engine and DSG gear box works very badly, shaking, etc. So probably after trying new generation Korean cars never will come back to German cars. Coming back to Hyundai SantaFe 2.2 crdi counting points from 10 max - off-road drive - 9/10; highway - 9/10 max speed 210km/h and easily drives, no shaking like Arteon, Sound isolation 10/10 double windows in front, Sound system KRELL - sounds perfect, no any resonance, build quality inside, outside 9/10, all used materials 10/10 as example last generation VW Touareg because of cheap materials can give just 7/10 points, electric seats are heated and ventilated with nappa leather, black alcantara leather on roof, 7 seats, etc. Center console works perfectly and are ergonomic, don't have even look to found needed action, as example Skoda, Cupra, Seat, VW, BMW or Audi touch screens with very slow working systems, You spends lots of time just to turn on heating of seats, or steering wheel, in Hyundai all is very simple and works perfectly. My next car definitely will by Genesis GV80 or it could be KIA EV6 GT
