Beautiful! I want to ask you,if I may,for a buttercream covered cake how do I add luster dust,I know the buttercream has to be hard ,but do I use a soft brush and just brush it on. Will ever clear or vodka be too strong to use on it,will it eat away the buttercream? I guess I' ll have to test for myself and see,in case you don't see my msg. I have a cake coming up and would like to add it on buttercream. I've only finf videos where it is brushed on fondant with either or. If you can give me an answer I'll appreciated,Thanks! I love all of your cakes,this one was interesting with the sugar method you used.

So simply elegant. The sugar sheets add glitter and grace will the gold painted accent. And the touch of pink on the cake and sails sends it over the top. I'm still not very confident regarding the sugar sheets. Do you have any more tutorials on how to make sugar sheets? 🤔 . Thank you for sharing and keep on caking 💜
I just found your channel and I’m loving your videos! Do you have favorite brushes for the edible gold lister dust? How far in advance can you place the rice paper sails?
Hi! I am glad you found me;) I would say that for covering large areas, like chocolate balls where the while thing is covered, I like fluffy makeup brushes. Not used ones of course;) for smaller things I like real hair brushes. Not synthetic. The synthetic can fall apart easier. I have such a collection and I kind of use them all;)
I try to keep it from going into the frosting as much as possible for the same reason. That is why I add the floral wire to the ends. It just absorbs the moisture that is in the frosting;(
Sugar sheets are so pretty but so unstable and I can’t imagine it would be nice to eat, do you actually get a lot of orders for them or is it more an internet trend?
I think theyvtaste pretty good especially if you use corn syrup;) And I find that most trends turn into orders at some point. Depends on your demographic probably;) I have found that if you allow it to set up until right before it is too firm to wrap, that it is stable. Probably no longer then an hour.
@@sophisticakesbymary I’m so intrigued by it but living in Australia I’m yet to see it done, I think most people are afraid of it with our heat 🤣 it’s getting the better of me though so I think I’m going to give it a go for the birthday cake I’m asked to do
We have a lot of humidity here in the Midwest also, not sure if it is as much as yours;) So I would suggest the food grade liquid glucose in place of the corn syrup and maybe using just granulated sugar instead of the sugar crystals. Or maybe 2/3 granulated and 1/3 crystals. That way it is more compact and will hold its shape better. Also, refrigerate for sure!

Also you can pull it off if you do find it unpleasant. There is still buttercream underneath.
