I LOVE that you guys actually went to the proper RPM to realize the gains of the shorter runner intakes. There are so many videos out there with guys complaining about losing power on a short runner intake and they shut the thing down at 6800.
@@Papisartee it needs as much as it needs. Spin it until power starts to drop off. Even then, depending on setup, it will drop off a little then come back. LS's love RPM
You know the funny thing is that I did the same thing for John on the Cleveland heads and intake, which I did the design work on, I spent countless hours and plenty of my own money finding out what was best, the investment is huge when you are putting your own money into this stuff. And then the customer wants to pay nothing for it. I commend you for what you have done. Now people will rush off to an engine assembler and tell them what parts to buy and act like a HERO when the engine makes power. I think you understand what I am saying. Great work, Johns intake is awesome. I only wish you would have ran the Cadalic SUV intake???
R&D work never seems to payoff like it should from a money-effort standpoint. Did it for 10 years. Funded mostly by one customer. The doubters come from everywhere. You could have correlating numbers from the flow bench showing improvement. Then the nay sayers would come out of the woodworks saying,” air flow isn’t everything, the dyno will tell the tale!” Get it on the dyno and sure enough the tell was told. Then here they come again,”But you can’t race a dyno, only the track will tell the tale!” Car goes down the track consistently faster and it would all go back to the “airflow isn’t everything narrative.” The most frustrating part of life is when the power wasn’t what was expected. They all came running for the flow bench data first. Never a straight up, you did a good job and you’re headed in the right direction. Just doubt, doubt and more doubt.

Holdener just posted a 427 comparison between stock ls3 and ported rod mod showing no gain. Plenty of contradictory info in the last decade, and I like my RCR intake. Hope it doesn't affect your sales.

It's the exact same manifold. Sniper, fitech, jegs, ebay special, etc. All of those fabricated aluminum manifolds are sourced from the same Chinese manufacturer.
On the CID intake I would've liked to have seen a Wilson the CID intake topped off with a Wilson Manifold's elbow and a Wilson's Manifold 105 Throttle Body I think that would be a pretty good match

Seems like unless you have an aircraft carrier boat anchor for a right foot, you're better off tinkling with a factory air intake * however...it is fun to just drop anchor every now and then :)
I’m still debating if a TBSS or a Holley high ram would be best for my LS mustang gt. TBSS should be fine but that high ram is just so damn good looking.
Definitely go with the TBSS. Hi ram will kill lots of low end torque/power and not make enough more power then the TBSS for its use to reasonably be justified.
Can’t wait! I’m looking at 2015 Camaro SS’s with the ls3 with 6 speed mt as they are my absolute favorite 5 gens. The tail lights and front end are the best looking out of the 5th gens and even better looking than the 2019+. I’m coming straight to you guys and getting 13:1 cp pistons with ss4 cams beehive springs and light weight valves rockers and chromoly rods 8 pound fly wheel. Also sending you my heads to be cnc port and polished. As well as an intake manifold. Going to call ARH and see if they will do a set of equal length long tube headers as well as equal length exhaust with only high density magna flow resonators and x pipe. I want to be spinning 7500 rpm’s. At my dad gas station he carries Sunoco SS100 octane fuel so 13:1 shouldn’t be a problem.
I agree, I like the 14-15 Camaro the best myself. The tail lights are similar to a 69. I have a 2015 LS3 6 speed manual 1SS and I am looking to buy a 2015 2SS 1LE when I find one that I like.
I have a 2015 2SS RS with the TR6060 and love it, you will need to upgrade the axles and diff with those engine upgrades, they are the weak point of 5th gens.
Looking at your dyno graph between the hi ram and the LOD, the hi ram out performs it across the entire curve. To me, the LOD is the lesser manifold unless you’re trying to be a HP king. I’m gonna love running into someone running that LOD.
2014 Camaro 2SS L99. K&N C.A.I., BBK shorty tune length headers, VRam wedge on the throttle body, x-pipe and muffler delete on 93 octane in FL. This a daily driver that I want a bit more out of. I do plan on buying your SS1 cam. The car has 71,000 miles on it. Will any of these manifolds help the car?

An ls3 with heads cam tune can make from 500-700 hp all day. If a ls1 controport head cam motor can make 500 hp by mistake an ls3 can give you some shocking hp numbers also. The supercharger Corvette use a small displacement motor with help of force induction no good after market cam nore high dollar heads but just a tame version the Corvette makes 650 an plus turn down so it's not hard to get any ls based motor to make higher hp per mods or cubic inches
How is power below 4500.. ill be keeping my stock ls manifold, i could add 1psi boost and gain more than 10hp.. if it gained all across the board then it might be worth it.
I would like to find the cross ram dyno test on the LS motor, which had the highest average torque and horsepower below 6,000 rpm. I saw the test apx. a year to two years ago. Anybody know of this, let me have the url. Thanks

@@rustysausage69 directly from a GM proving ground engineer. He has a 10 second factory Crank rods block and piston regal T type. Gm runs their vehicles hotter for more efficient combustion. The cooling fans in my trans am coming on low speed around 220 degrees Fahrenheit on the tech 2...

Actually it did gain, just not as much as he "thought it would".
Also, they put it on a very poor combination for a plastic intake, a 427 needs some lungs, not LS3 heads and plastic intake!

4500 flange version with a good TB would be identical to a 102/105 and elbow.

I believe it was our SS4 or something close. Like a mid 230 at .050 intake duration cam.

@@Shadow0fd3ath24 The LT5 made about 350+ from 350ci in the late 1980s.. Look at the wheel hp those cars make. Its prob well higher than that.
What about testing a MSD massairforce
MSD doesn't make an airforce for rectangle port LS3 style heads.
When we get a chance to continue our testing on the LS7 platform, we will be testing the MSD!

Just curious why you are running your tests at 140 degree when the thermostat starts to open at 180 degrees and the fans come on around 217 degrees??
Parameter optimization in the dyno cell. Engines make better power when the water is cooler.

Car Painter 19 don’t forget cheaper .... an L92 will do about the same numbers for a fraction of the ls3

@@demarques1911 hope you mean to the wheels haha because youd be hard pressed to reduce stock n/a hp even on a 4.8 ls to 300 hp even harder if its carbed lol. Maybe a holley 2 barrel on an ls might do it
