I'ts been so long since I visited Palisades Park (1968), let alone rode the Cyclone, but I remember enough of it to say that even though some of it is exaggerated (and that NL simulation does not demonstrate the "rickety" experience most of these old coasters developed over time), overall the track layout is spot on... Nice job!
IIRC, the Cyclone was the tallest wooden roller-coaster east of the Mississippi. My older brother got me on it by claiming it was a 'train', & we'd see the whole park from it - I was about 8-YO, & terrified during the ride. Jack laughed uproariously at my panic. // When we debarked, I threw up on his sneakers - not deliberately, I was sweating, shaking, & miserable - but in retrospect, it seems a fitting consequence for teasing a trusting younger sister. [He'd have been 16, at the time.]
The Palisades Cyclone, the Harry Traver ride, closed in 1934. You rode it at 8 years old? That would make you pretty old right now. I'll bet you're thinking of the second Palisades Cyclone, not the first, which closed in 1971.
This is called the “skyrocket”. It burnt down in the late 30s. They replaced it with the cyclone which I went on many times but it was not nearly as good as the Skyrocket.
Some roller coasters look scary but arent. This coaster is the opppsite ,,esp if they let it go full speed. I think thy got brakes to slow it down now or at night..
