  • In today's case study we have a 2011 Nissan Maxima with a 3.5l V6 engine. The vehicle is a No crank, No start and a No communication. Follow along as I take you step by step through my diagnostic and troubleshooting process to determine how a blown fuse, a short circuit and a torn belt is causing this vehicle to become a "No start".
    Thank you for watching!

    This is exactly what is happening to my Car, 2010 Maxima S. Took to firestone, they only tired to start the car and not give a complete diagnosis. They won't fix and told me that it was a dealer issue. So I will have to tow it back home and do the fix myself. Thanks for the video.

    This was far the best video showing the 2010 or any of the years that built the same exactly how to replace the headlamps assembly kit step by step instructions which is very clear and concise. It took me approximately 2.5 hours at the most to replace both sides of the vehicle headlamps.

    It is amazing that such a small problem shuts down the whole vehicle. Love watching these videos because we get to learn how complex modern vehicles really are these days with chips and computers ~ not simple like when I was a much younger man when all you had to do was check whether you had fuel and a spark. Great work, keep it up!

    I specialize on Nissan and Infiniti vehicle diagnostics and dude this is a Excellent diagnostic video of finding the root cause and confirming the repair. And yes just a FYI for those that don’t know the (IPDM) intelligent power distribution module has built-in logic or protocol program
    that turns on the cooling fans as a failsafe feature when it senses a major issue to help prevent possible engine overheat. Keep up the good diagnoses!

    • @AudioGardenSlave123
      @AudioGardenSlave123 ปีที่แล้ว

      2011 Nissan Maxima: Over the course of years before I bought the car from my sister the battery would randomly leave her stranded (or so she thought) but it's odd that the car would start just fine and after a short drive of perhaps three minutes and about fifteen minutes of her shopping the battery suddenly dies when she gets back in (her job and the store were very close so it was odd that it would crank once but fail less than 30 minutes later). I buy the car and change the alternator and the electrical connector for the alternator cause the plastic was brittle and broken, I did this cause the battery would randomly be drained after the car sat for weeks or sometimes only days. Car works fine for a few weeks (not driven regularly though) and I find the battery is still draining cause it's dead one day, but I charge it up . A couple of weeks later I got in the car and it cranked just fine but then after I put it in reverse all the warning lights come on and the engine wouldn't rev up in reverse. I put it in drive and the motor will rev up and move the car, put it back in reverse and get nothing. I buy a new battery and the car is cranking and working correctly, after a trip the battery and brake light start to flutter on and off but I make it home with no issues. Now the battery and brake light keep coming on but the car is working fine, though I note that if I rev the motor up I can make the light go out after a few times reving the engine. Opinion?

    Wow, exactly the issue this 2013 maxima I’m working on was having. Thank you so much for the video, sir, you earned my like and subscribe
    EDIT: a few days later when the customer approved the diag time, I began investigating all wires and wiring diagrams to find all wires that were in the ECM circuit looked fine. I noticed the fuse blew every time you turned the key to the on position. unplugged the three main plugs on the ECM and began to turn the key to the on position w/out the fuse blowing. Concluded ECM has internal short.

    Dude I'm a heavy duty diesel mechanic which mean to my family I can work on anything. This exact same thing happened to my nieces altima. So I started my normal diag checks, noticed the belt, hooked my tablet up got the same code as you when you checked and before I went down the rabbit hole if checking why the ecm wasn't communicating was like let me see what TH-cam university has to say. And show nuff same wire but further up where I couldn't really see it until I went and double checked after I saw this. Same issue. Bad ass bro you rock

    Great video brother! Another trick for intermittent shorts to ground is to put a substitute load in place of the fuse. A light bulb or buzzer that illuminates or buzzes when the short is present proves real handy for this kind of detection. Plus it's safe to carry that unintended load. You can even add a fuse holder to your test light harness so you have double circuit protection. Way to test & not guess!

      Sam S that’s exactly what happened to my G-35 Infinity V-6 3.5 Nissan engine and right now is completely torn apart in my local mechanic shop since it loss comprension in all 6 cylinders because with only about around 2,000 miles since my last oil change (i use Amsoil full synthetic oil that is supposed to last 10,000 miles) inexplicably it lost about 2 1/2 cuarts of oil...🤷‍♂️🤔. Currently the engine has 126,000 miles and was running absolutely perfect with no oil leaks and perfectly sound and healthy.

    Excellent work. Thorough and detailed, maybe more than an average Joe needs but better than not enough. Working on my Altima Hybrid no start.
