I'm probably the oldest person to watch this video. When I grew up in the 1960s I alway imagined a kind of music that sounded like this would exist in the future, and decades later the music scene evolved and Slowdive emerged. Pretty interesting. Glad it happened.
Now hold on! I see a few of these comments...and fair enough. But have you ever seen the Garage performace from 2017? I personally would put that as their best current live concert in both sound and visuals. This one is good but the vocals suffer at times. It is shot very very well though.

Honestly, this is actually the one thing I don't like about this mix here. The vocals should not stick out in Shoegaze in my opinion, the should blend in with the other instruments. So I wish they would be a tight bit lower. That being said, they are also not like mixed totally in the front, so it's not that bad.
In a parallel universe they are as big as Coldplay and Radiohead. I think you can blame the record company too tho - why wasn't "when the sun hits" a single?
I wonder how the people from NME and Melody Maker that wrote those destructive articles about Slowdive (or any band for that matter) could sleep at night. But okay, Slowdive have definitely gotten the last laugh.

This sounds amazing even at low volume, all the elements at the right level so that they 'gel' correctly into the wall of sound. Honestly done better than their latest album.
Whoa. The mix on this is incredible. I wish it had been this good when I saw them at the Riviera in Chicago last year but I know this is through the desk.
This was an especially intimate performance. Thank you for sharing it with us. Like many others viewing and commenting on this video, I was fortunate to see them perform recently (in January). After many, many years of waiting and watching countless videos of their live shows since the '90s, they managed to exceed my already stratospheric expectations. First video where I can see what Christian is actually doing. I have been massively inspired by Neil's playing & tone. In fact I bought one of my (many) guitars due to Neil's Epiphone. However, I have always felt that Christian adds an unsung vital texture. Here I can see how he is doing it. My challenge is how to get the flavor of both Neil's & Christian's guitars out of my one guitar in our band. Hopeless, I know, but I do get part way there :) This my favorite Slowdive live video ever. Great work!
