this is a lossless selection of unreleased slowdive songs compiled from the demos collection bootleg by yours truly
list of omitted recordings: alternate mixes, remixes, pygmalion demos (due to copyright), i'm the elephant u are the mouse soundtrack (no lossless source available at the time), the 1989 eternal demos, and the 1996 mojave 3 demos - mostly because it just sounds better and more cohesive this way
plus you can think of this as some sort of long lost slowdive lp (side a ending on track 6)
keep in mind that some of the song names are probably terribly wrong

What I find the most amazing with Slowdive is that even their "rejected songs" are wonderful pieces of art.

It is interesting how songs that were not the content of an album are better than songs that were part of the content of a 100% constituted album. And without a doubt, Slowdive is the best example of this. And we could say "I want this on Spotify" or "I want to hear it in studio album quality," but come on: that scratchy, retro, lo-fi sound is a plus here.
Honestly the scratchy lofi sound sounds so nostalgic idk why. Definitely hits different
apparently this WAS supposed to be the album, originally. the label rejected the first 20 songs they submitted and told them to go back into the studio and “write something good” this time
I think just for a day is a great album. These songs are great too. To this day nothing gives me the same feeling that Primal gives me. It’s so intense
Shoegaze works very well with a more lofi production
youtube audio quality is higher than spotify anyway
If only Slowdive would release all these amazing songs on some sort of compilation. All we have is bootlegs, but I'd be fine with paying the band to create an official cd of em.

bleed and sleep are as good if not better than their actual releases imo.
Sleep in particular is amazing, probably one of my top 5 ever Slowdive songs. Crazy that they never had it on an official album. Maybe they'll put it on their new album like Radiohead did with True Love Waits.

Absolutely beautiful sounds here.
Been perfect for my morning of a long bus ride around a Berkshire town.
It's been sunny, raining, grey and sunny with deep thick grey/white clouds.
It's been a perfect choice of music for such a morning.
I wish they would release a remastered version of all these songs one day. Hide yer eyes, I saw the sun, Joy and I thought I saw are one of my favourite tunes ever. Ironically I kinda like slowdive's unreleased stuff even more than their official LPs.
oh yeah, i definitely agree. i couldn’t tell you why… but it is what it is. These unreleased songs are just peak songwriting imo.

The world needs a Slowdive reunion now more than ever. 27 years has been way too long.
Erm, they reformed in 2014, have toured regularly and released a new album in 2017 with another coming in 2023? This was a couple of months back th-cam.com/video/cJjBPtfZua8/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=GS
They reunited, made a new album, toured- the works, brotha.

song 1 is so sick! I just imagine being at the precipice of a mountain at night staring at the infinite sea of stars.
this is my first time listening to slowdive and every single one of these are gems wow can't wait to explore their released music.
They are truly unique, beautiful, moving, sensational. Their music always takes me to a peaceful place. First song I heard was Summer Day in 2009; I was almost 15 and God was that the best summer of my youth 😭

What was Alan McGee thinking of? Some of these songs are great. Especially like ‘Joy’...you can hear the Siouxie / Joy Division influence there, and it would have been an interesting addition to the usual ethereal floatiness.
True but we might not have got souvlaki had they done this as an album first. I wish sleep and silver screen made it to souvlaki

This is my first experience with Slowdive and I can say this in itself is a near perfect album to me. Wouldn't mind if they were all remastered and officially released. (Not sure if they have been already lol)

All of these demo's are incredible. The bass in Silver Screen is just mind-blowing, as much as most all of this, this band has helped me out of many bad times, they're a real gem 💎 And to whoever is reading this, you have amazing taste!

Studio versions that kept the original essence of the songs in tact would be absolutely amazing.

I Thought I Saw should've made it on Souvlaki and I've always said this! Nobody ever says this is their favorite unreleased but to me...the composition is up there with When The Sun Hits, 40 Days, etc.

Some really great tracks, I'm a big fan of Slowdive but there are a load here that I've never heard before. Would be nice if they could release these in HQ or as a CD album at some point.
I suppose that some of these were tracks that Alan McGee (or maybe the band themselves) decided to shelve. 20 odd years on and hopefully it becomes apparent that there are some real gems here.
