      I recover by stretching, patience, and exercise. It took me like 4 months. I recommend not returning to the exercise until you know it doesn't hurt. Always come back to the activity progressively. If it hurts, you stop and keep doing exercises that don't hurt. Lying down with the legs fully stretched, then having a ball between the ankles and squeezing the ball helps a lot. Make sure it doesn't hurt. It should not be a pain. If it hurts too much then put the ball between both knees
