    I'm glad you mentioned the relation to the Wood Duck. I lived near the Reifel Bird Refuge when I was a kid and they were a rare sighting. I always wondered about hybrids since there've been Mandarin Ducks(or at least Trevor) in Vancouver since 2018.

    In Sweden where I live Mandarin ducks are pretty rare, but I have seen them in central Stockholm. The cool thing is one Mandarin drake is always surronded by Mallard drakes. You can feel that the Mallards are kinda jealous of the Mandarins, and will treat the Mandarin as their leader.

    Warblers would be awesome to do a video on! Many are amazing migratory as and are an incredibly diverse group. Also, the interaction between Rufous hummingbirds and red-breasted sapsuckers would be really cool! The hummingbird relies on the sap holes of the sapsucker in order to migrate all the way north to Alaska in the spring and establish territory!

    I always wondered: If in nature sexual dimorphism *usually* is about males being fancier than females... wouldn't that mean that in humans, males should also be fancier? However, what we find is that females are regarded as the ones having to do the fancy stuff.

    • @oomsou5018
      @oomsou5018 2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Usually doesn’t mean all the time. And who says the males aren’t fancier? I think because we have sentience and today’s morals and stuff affect on what we view as fancier and stuff. Like if we go on just base natural biology and stuff we will be seen as a bigot by a lot of people. I literally know a couple people irl who think it’s close minded of me to mention natural biology. So I don’t know.
