Brutal. I had the same thing happen to me today, crew standing around, concrete still in hoses and being under the sun. You can just feel the pressure but feels so good when you get it rolling again and you quickly realize why everyone can not last in this pumping game. Hahah people look at me like I'm crazy for still smiling after dealing with this mess but it's what I live for. You just never know what you're going to get
    Take care Scott !!

This looks exactly like the stuff I was pumping out of a volumetric truck today. I normally have a 4” reducer and a 3 1/2” reducing whip hose on. When priming with volumetric trucks and rocky mixes I like to keep my augers in reverse to kick the rocks to the back of the hopper for the entire pour, I got it primed A-frame then half a yard later it plugged, laid the boom down took the 3 1/2 and 4” reducer off then put the 4 1/2” hose on. In my area contractors will always bitch about anything bigger than 3 1/2” so If guys want to dump gravel in my hopper then they can deal with it. Kept it rolling slow without stopping. The rest of the pour went great.

@@PT2024CG Operator started off with a 3.5” tip-hose (our typical/standard hose size for when pumping commercial mixes), locked up right away and swapped it out for the 4 inch. On a pour like this we’ll use the 4.5” tip-hose next time around.

You got to love the state mix design 80 percent of it you can pump and the other 20 percent you battle it good thing it wasn’t 1 1/2 stone mix that is tough to pump

@@jamessomero3617 So our 1 1/2” mix actually pumps far nicer than this stuff. It uses round/river stone with a good blend of medium and fine materials. This mix here is nothing but a ton of 3/4” crushed with some cement powder and a pinch of sand. Stuff just binds up like crazy!

Are you a Super or a foreman on the pumpers or both? you just mentioned that you got a call that you are needed on another job and you raced over there to help.
