I use liquid primer as you know with absolutely zero issues. The stuff I use is amazing for me. It has to be the sand. You saw my video Scott I sent it over 300ft of 2” hose. Just happens to work for me and not you lol. We have very fine sand. White beachy sand. You all have that dark sand more coarse. I was pulling for ya though. It sure is a clean way to prime out when it works

I love it when people try and tell you to use a certain product because it works great for them everytime and they just assume we’re doing something wrong but don’t take the time to realize material in each mix design is different in each part of the world. I know without a doubt, I’ll use super primer until I retire or move to Canada I guess haha. 🤣 I have no reason to change. It is very convenient priming using that stuff. I’m sorry it didn’t work for you but I’m loving the fact it was put to the test in that area! It’s fun to see how we all have to tackle things differently! So it is natural sand, but for what I can tell, it is quite coarse in comparison to most other markets. Also, our lines mixes tend to be ultra heavy on sand, which I’m sure doesn’t help.
Is there a reason why you use a smaller sludge hammer than a bigger one for plugs? Or just a smaller one easier as it's carry around. Love the channel!!
@@curtisheb8595 That’s actually my “bigger hammer” 😂😂😂 I keep a smaller one as well. I prefer smaller because I’m more a fan of tapping lightly one the hoses reducers when chasing plugs. The rock looks good. I know where i work they don’t use washed sand, and some people complain about it saying it’s sticky. But a lot of the pump operators also just prime with water only, with some use of slick Willy 2. If it’s an admixture issue, you might want to try reaching out to the local sika or grace rep about the admixtures. We also use sika 2100 for a plasticizer.

The minute our concrete comes into contact with gel-type primer the sand/fines are instantly pulled from it and cling to the inner walls of the hose, leaving only heavier sand and stone to move forward through the line (or not move, more accurately). It literally plugs after only 5-10 feet inside of the hose. Every time!!! It’s got to be our sand is what I’m thinking.
Yeah ive had similar issues with it on my line pump, i stick with a thick crepe batter constitency of fly ash powder, maybe a bit thicker for downhills and works 8/10 times. but everyone likes something different, my old boss used to swear by using loam or light dirt for primer and that would work too but not very good for concrete so id have too catch it
I get thoughts in the middle of the night after nightmare pours that maybe we should be washing our hoses with the slick prime..so after you wash out all the concrete run the pump with slick prime on the hose and put it away .. so when you use it again the following day the slick pak will activate .. and you use water to prime out.. I've tried everything too..

We are planning to get a few yards of concrete and do a test of serval different primers. Could be the perfect opportunity to play around some more with the slime-prime.
Talking about nightmare days.Halfway thru a pour concrete stopped flowing.Few strokes back and again we go.Then when i stop to park the next mixer concrete cant start like its plugged.3 trucks later we done and i cant pull the sponge.When i looked in my hoper the cuting ring on the S valve was broken in half.How does that even happen? Segregeted concrete or just wearing with time ?
@@hankrum1toni I have seen with some of the carbide wear parts cases where debris from the mixer (usually metal) will take out the hardened wear parts as they are for more brittle than the standard steel pieces.

Just start buying Portland for line jobs if it’s that hard to prime mix it kinda like pancake batter and she goes

I always just put a soft sponge in a hose ahead of the one im putting my slurry in never used plastic bags

I just used Portland cement mixed with water.
I feel like that stuff on works for metal pipe. Def not hoses. I’ve had same result.
We have have the same results with 3 inch line with 3/4 mix no chemical added, never use it any more only mortar mix

Has to be bad reaction with the Plastisizer. When I delivered to pumps we would only slop down first hopper to get it thru the lines. Never a problem

We use 2 bags of primer to 30 litres of water never had a plug
Use half a bag instead of a whole bag, makes a difference.
I've tried everything with the stuff. With our mud, it literally is the anti-prime.
Use slurry, that slick willy is rubbish. Also soapy water ahead of the slurry helps it not mix better,
Yup, my bentonite blows this stuff out of the water! I'm going to try adding a little bit of dish soap to my bentonite next time as well.

Try to add more water to the slime so it doesn’t pull the moisture out of the concrete but not to much to not segregate. 🧪 science 🧬
