We need farmers much more than we need politicians! He would do well to remember that 😉
Thank you for sharing this Ana x

If the worldwide C epidemic of 2020 should have taught us, together with the Ukraine war, its that the UK needs MORE farming not less. As an island we have already had a massive decline in farming as farmers are squeezed more and more by large supermarkets that has resulted in farmers either giving up or being forced to diversify to try to stay in business.
Support your local farmers both big and small.

I was also disgusted to hear him say that. Starmer has tried to distance himself from it but we now know what they're thinking and what their plans are. You are right to be upset.

Well, let him show us how we don't need farmers. Sit him in a room and see how long he can go without food. Might be the best reality show ever.

Yes Ana I also saw that interview and I almost fell off my chair. What a disgusting piece of work. I have always believed that the farmers are the backbone of our country. More important than the emergency services and I don’t say that lightly, no food no life. They are more important than those idiots in government. That man truly made me feel very afraid. We can all see what is happening and for some reason seem kind of helpless to stop it. Without a shadow of a doubt they will stop the farmers in their protests I know because I have seen it. I support our farmers and i n every way and no matter how bad this gets and it will I will never stop supporting them. If there are any protests in Manchester I would be happy to support. Keep up the great work Ana.

To be honest, there is so much going on in the world to fear but what I fear most is much closer to home....Government.

How can this country even exist without our farmers ?
We all need to get behind the farmers, big or small
We already have to import energy from abroad (from nuclear power plants in France) - which give them a very big bargaining chip whenever they want something from us - and now these muppets want to do the same with our food, they really do need to be removed ASAP

I'm no Blue or Red, they're all prats, but I do know Labour closed more mines than Tories did. We were forced by the EU to import cheaper coal from Poland which then made our mines not viable, basically costing £2 for every £1 worth of coal pulled out. But ... we all know that this is a very long term agenda, and it wouldn't have mattered which colour were in gov, the mines were going to close as part of the agenda. Meanwhile, China open 100-300 new coal mines a year, currently.

My God, Ana, I just watched the clip. This type of attitude comes straight from Klaus and his cohort. Thatcher was a horror. I am not bashing Britain, because God knows we have no one that we can point to as an example here, except maybe Kennedy, who tried to stop this, and he was done away with; that was 60 years ago. How entrenched is it globally by now? The openness is horrifying. We need to put our trust in ourselves alone, and no politician.

Perhaps we could we each buy a few square feet of farmland and let the farmers use it. It would have very little value because not much could be done with it by ourselves and so the farmer won't make much profit by selling, or might even make a loss, and would be less likely to pay capital gains tax during that year. We could start with bits of land scattered around the fields beginning with the fields spanning the roadside or big ag/industry, just in case.
Two or three decades ago, a French farmer once sold his field in square foot lots to the general public because the state wanted to take it over to build something (a railway line?). He sold some lots to people abroad which made it more difficult for the authorities to track them down.

Ana take a look at this , th-cam.com/video/I4kihs2MAnM/w-d-xo.htmlsi=a4QqbZ02jBSfBbRN How true is this .
I want to take this opportunity to thank you and Mark for getting me motivated into prepping.
I have always been a bit of a prepper but you both inspired me to take it to the next level. My garden produces all our vegetables and most of our fruit , i needed to teach myself more on canning . I took this last nine months to learn more of preserving and cooking using lentils and beans, I even make our wraps using lentils now and they are really good . So thank you both once again , Pat x

How do the big country estates get inherited without paying huge amounts of tax? Could farmers put all their assets into a trust? Or could they set up a limited company with headquarters in a country with very little tax?
