Fun Fact: Tom's American accent in Buffalo Soldiers was actually dubbed - he did play with an American accent but the producers obviously thought it wasn't American enough and he only found out about the dubbing when the film was released😂😂

He worked very hard on improving the accent..for a USA program called Rush...he had to use an American accent for that one.

Tried watching an episode of lucifer but all I see is Gary so I couldn’t do it. Watched all of Miranda at the start of lockdown
@@rachjade8785 You need to see more than one episode, probably...he eventually lives in the character and you start enjoying it. Generally pretty humorous. I enjoyed Miranda, but Tom Ellis buffed up a lot to play Lucifer and I like that a lot.

Agreed. That is where he found his calling... wasted on everything else. If someone wants to watch, do seasons 1 and 4 (the best, after Netflix took it on) where he is bad ass and most likely as the devil would be on earth. S3 (apart from finale) and esp contrived woke seasons 5 and 6 (never mind, it has happened to ALL TV) are poor. The writers will burn in hell for doing that to him. lol

Loonie Moonie The point is that Dr Who had been written like that in an official capacity at some point and many people assume that the character name and the show name are one and the same. To pick that hill to die on really doesn't paint Whovians in the best light, and the fandom needs a continuous influx of new fans to keep alive.
@@byMidnyt The credits don't count when his name in the show itself is the Doctor. Nobody in the show ever calls him Dr. Who (except as a stupid Moffat joke decades later for one episode). Even when someone says "Doctor who?" he replies with "Just the Doctor". What some producers have written on a card outside of the narrative doesn't mean shit.
As a Brit that watches Lucifer, it is so weird to know that this handsome Devil was once in Eastenders. i had completely forgotten he was in it.
Him in miranda will always be an unforgetable performance. I loved him in there 💜💜💜
Early Tom Ellis without a shirt on was scrawny compared to the beefed up version of the present day Lucifer. Tom's exercise regimen video shows how dedicated he is to being everything the part requires. And I think he could be a terrific Bond, especially with his charm, brooding good looks, obvious physicality and great acting chops. Hope he gets a chance to try for the part.

They forgot that before Lucifer,Tom Ellis play Robin Hood in season 2 episode of the show Once Upon A Time.
That's because he cheated on his wife during filming and it destroyed their marriage and he's hardly seen his 2 kids with her since. He also left his first fiance as soon as he found out she was pregnant, but that's beside the point. He's not a nice bloke and Netflix don't want to advertise it since he's a face of one of their bigger shows.
I hope we will see him in more projects after Lucifer, he is so talented.

Comparing the brief snippet of the Dr Rush voice we heard here to for instance Lucifer, makes it really clear to me how much more he did to the character to make it seem so damn young aside from the body language. Lucifer always came across like mentally such a teenager, and I didn't realize how much his voice use was part of that until I heard his Dr Rush voice...
