Its a metaphore shes using to compare the character hes portraying like for exsample lucifer is deamed as "pure evil" because in a biblical sence that is how he is described, but its not how hes portrayed in the show and she knows that.
Well, is evil known for being obvious? It's a subjective term. Even if a devil like Lucifer (and no he's not the only devil or Satan) was evil, would he see himself that way? That's part of the appeal of the show, as well the graphic novel they based it on. Sure, he addresses himself as Lucifer Morningstar, but he doesn't first appear with severed wings, horns, or anything. Even if he's not pure evil, you know what the say, "the road to hell is paved with a lot of good intentions."
@@davids.3584 I never explicitly said he was one thing or the other. From his point of view, yeah, he's the good guy who's just punishing sinners. a job he never asked for. On the other hand, his methods and motives as far as who he punishes, what makes them guilty in his eyes, and how he does it could be argued by some as morally wrong. My point was it's all subjective. Most know the story of Lucifer the devil or Lucifer the rebel, his is the story of Lucifer the victim. The truth is somewhere in the middle.
It's clear the interviewer has not seen the show or she wouldn't ask if he likes playing a character that is pure evil. It's one of the main points about the character, that he is not evil. Oops more research before your next interview

He is major reason I love the show much, what a character, what an actor Tom Is, how he nailed his role, lifetime performance, no one can act as Lucifer better than Tom Ellis
Indeed! "Lucifer" is one of those series to come along that has gripping characters who are well played by actors born for the role! I became a fan due to the philosophy of the show! In the end we are all part of the whole, in our own way!
He is the only guy who could’ve played Lucifer. He just exudes the charm and the suave quality that you would expect the devil to have. A man of good humor. Love this actor.
There are a few actors in hollywood that can sing and dance in addition to acting. Mr. Ellis has a beautiful voice, and it is nice that they have included it occasionally. I wish Hollywood would put more singing and dancing in films and TV, even if incidental, because some of these talents need to be enjoyed.
Tom Ellis is a brilliant singer. Just had to say that. Also, beautiful acting. Perfectly cast. I have to admit the series Lucifer as a whole has honestly helped me in a sense.

Bloody hell, have you even watched the show? It is all about it! I am not evil, I punish evil!

On the other hand, his methods and motives as far as who he punishes, what makes them guilty in his eyes, and how he does it could be argued by some as morally wrong.
