Tekin Racing are y’all going to to any drag race time testing instead of top speed testing. Since this is a drag car build I’d like to see what it can do on a 132” no prep track.
Definitely! I can't right now since there is 5' of snow on the ground though. Come spring time I'll get this car back out and start tuning it for 132' pulls.
I'm pretty sure you put heat shrink when the power capacitor when you start this build. I believe you said it was to make it inconspicuous, now there is no heat shrink. What did I miss?
I'm new to your channel , but why not just put in a 3s lipo to hit 70 mph ? And I've never owned a tekin anything. Its always been out of my price range . But this looks so awesome. Must be awesome to get to play with all the top rc equipment in the industry. What a dream job.
Because that's the easy way and these cars are limited to 2S for the track. I was also told I couldn't go that fast on 2S, so I had to do it! Really what I'm showing is that our products have lots of tools to keep tabs on your setup and make changes to that setup that you can see, all while avoiding damaging things by guessing.
@@TekinRacing well you will achieve the 70mph Marc I'm sure if you already haven't. You are doing a amazing job on 2s I can't believe it. And all the tuning abilities and data logging is amazing. @@mainebearhunter3444 well thanks! I definitely put a lot of work into my videos and I'm glad you are enjoying them. We don't have too much, but when our store is back up check there for any scratch and dent items, we do list things there!
Funny all this rc drag stuff now Witch I love. Got me a pretty fast Dr10 unlimited class. But I have to laugh because I did rc drags in 99 and with my 10 cell nicad powerd brushed motor I was #6 in the world In 132 feet my grand motorsports chassis 62 impala body went 1.474@ 90 mph.
The Pro2 has WAY more torque than the 4.5T. I still need to do a lot more testing with both motors this spring when the snow melts though, I think both can be fast it is just two different setups! Pro2 needs higher gearing with less timing and will have a more linear torque curve, the 4.5T is an RPM monster and really picks up speed when you add in the timing boost. Lots more to come when the roads are clear again!
Thanks Mitch! On 2S you're fine down to the 2.5T. On 3S I wouldn't recommend anything lower than a 10.5T if you want to keep your warranty. The RS Pro is very capable but we do have to have some limits.
So when the car went 72mph on the last run what were the changes? Was it still with the 4.5 or the pro2. I must of missed the part where u said what the changes were
I’m currently debating the same two motors you used. I have a rx8 and a rsx I can use for esc. Leaning towards the 8 just because of its current handling ability
Me too, but the road is dirty and the cold temps made traction extremely low. You do need a wheelie bar for drag and even at speed it would try to keep the car from flipping if enough air got under it. I plan on coming back to this one next year when it is warmer out.
Top speed testing is pretty pointless if your running way over 132 feet. You gearing for 132 is going to be way different then the top speed in double that distance.
@@TekinRacing I will give it a try. I'm running an RSX pro but castle 4 pole 4.5 turn. I use 23/86. It creates heat but we're only going 132 feet. Most guys seem to be running the low 50 mph in the 132. Traction is the biggest problem, not power.
@@ryanmerrill8879 not this car, no. I have Team Drivers running the same ESC and motor pulling 2.2 passes though. I was going to change some things around, just haven't gotten time to get it back out and test this year.

I clearly showed what over-gearing does and looks like compared to a more properly geared setup on the data analyzer. Geared lower = car went faster and ran cooler all around.
@@TekinRacing You didn't say what any of the changes were you made to go from 65 mph to 72 mph, gearing was 87/22 when you went 65 mph, no more info, you just ended the video, I think that's what Zack is talking about.

Excellent camera work on the 72mph run !

So silly! But very cool. I could see myself running these around the pits at a real size event.
The trick is getting that speed at 132ft 😎🤙
Hopefully going to see mid 60s in 132'!

Okay my question is what did it do from the launch at a 132feet mark? Not a speed run.
I never got that far and don't have a timing system to see what it was capable of.

hi did you use boost in this setup what did you start with
So what was the final changes you made??
Which motor did you end up with in the last 72mph run?

It advances the timing, increasing motor RPM. Be careful with it though, too much timing and the wrong gearing can damage ESCs and motors.
