I've been using a simple Ryobi pole saw 18-volt. It's astounding how much easier it can be to trim with a pole saw.

Yeah I’m sure they all work about the same. Keep your chain sharp and they’re magic

I just bought the HT-131 and love it but DAMN its heavy and will wear you out quick. When its extended all the way out, that 14" saw head has big time leverage against you with your arms in the air. It will put a hurting on you in short order. Physics suck ! Hey but Stihl days is going on right now. LOL... The Stihl Days thing has changed to mean that the days of getting a Stihl product for anything less than MSRP are gone forever.

Yeah I can’t remember if mine came with the strap or not. It makes all the difference to balance, and take the weight off your arms. Got lucky with my purchase as you say with new Stihl days. Sometimes lucky just to find what you want in stock.
      Welcome to Man Time!

How has this saw held up? Any problems? I can’t decide between this one or the Echo PPT 2620. I read the Stihl has the better engine but the Echo has the better pole.

This saw has held up well with no problems. It’s a joy to run! I read the same thing on the pole bending and jamming up. I haven’t had that issue and I run it fully extended. I don’t run it like a landscape crew would either. Treat it good and it treats me good. No complaints except after using it, having to clean up the big mess!

Not good to prune Oaks and Elms in the summer. It can cause issues that can kill the plant. Kind of a dumb video overall.
