This got recommended to me, I don't know why. Evolutionarily, our bodies when not taken care of are not suited for office jobs, its not fit to sit in a chair 8 hours a day. And our minds are evolved to be part of medium sized tightly knit social groups. But this does not mean that knowing the facts about evolution necessarily leads to something bad, many if not all the scientists I know (some personally) find joy and happiness in knowing about evolution. The problem with evolution is when people who are not actually the teachers force a materialistic ontology into evolution and say outright that ''if evolution is true then there is no purpose'', this is obviously not the case. The validity of evolution has nothing to do with the existance of purpose in the universe, or God for that sake. I am an atheist myself (Not updated my username) but I would never tell anyone that evolution entails a denial of goodness or purpose.
I agree with the other dude in the comment section, fully, and I am not an atheist either. It takes balls to say something as obscenly stupid as you do, but I shall still laugh
No need to ban it, just stop presenting it as more than it is, which is a theory based on established knowledge of breeding and adaption. The problem is that it is propagandized as irrefutable fact, and an origin story, thereby making a mockery of the scientific method. There is no observable proof of our origin, let alone that species evolve into other species. Either leave origin stories (which is all they are) out of the curriculum, or teach more than one.
