I ask you after picking up so many medium-sized boomboxes, every time I fall in love more with this aiwa trp 950 at medium volume, my question would be there is another box of that size with deep bass and amazing treble at low volume or medium that do you compete? .... thanks friend
@ 80's Boombox Collector thanks BC for the answer I have an aimor st 804 it is very nice its sound some recommendation to get auxiliary input to this boombox
Love it. I had one of these in the 80's for a few months. A friend borrowed it and it got stolen! Some friend. It never got replaced. I had it connected to a Yamaha CA410 amp to use as the tape deck. Man, it was so top of the line back then!

Recently found a pair of JBL L80T's for super cheap that are in good shape, just need a refoam. I keep toying with the idea of getting another Aiwa TPR950 but now I have some nice old vintage cassette decks these days.
Always been SERIOUSLY UNDERRATED. Next to the SHARP CF RANGE. And JVC RC RANGE. But for me the AIWA CS880. Stands up against the CF777 AND RC M90 Any day of the week. AIWA boomboxes have a very warm full sound.
The 955 has more features than the 950, and it looks better too. I personally think it sounds better than the M70 at low volume levels. But when you raise the volume the M70 performs better.
You guys crack me up. Have you seen how much the RC M70 goes for on the second hand market. Imo not this. But the AIWA CS880. More than matches the RC M70 for sound and bass.
Hi. I have one question. Are the two antennas that I see original? or they have been replaced? The antennas that i know on this model have withe plastic cap. (I need this information to make a purchase)...thanks.
@@80s_Boombox_Collector . Hi I`ve recently bought one of these to replace one I bought new as a teenager in 1979 and remembered it fondly. Mine has two different length aerials L 79 cm R 69 cm and have the white endcaps which I believe was standard. I`ve seen a number of photo`s onlinewhich also seem to show different sized aerials(on some other brands too) If your aerials are the same length as mine do you think this might have been part of the design (or maybe a technical feature) ? Thanks for your great videos.
@@martinlee8907 I've never seen a boombox with different length aerials. There wouldn't be any reason for it. So either one of them is stuck and won't open fully, or the previous owner replaced it with one from a different Aiwa and didn't tell you.

Which one do you think is better: Aiwa TPR-950 or TPR-955? I only have a TPR-955 and it sounds fantastic! But not as good as a JVC RC-M70

At least one of them is not original, because it is shorter than the other.

+slabostka Connected my iPod via "Line In" inputs. When you do that, the boombox automatically shuts off the radio and accepts the input signal.
