I bought an RX-CT900 in 1989. I got it at "Silo" in Harrisburg, PA. I was about 12 years old. I later hooked up a Sony D-33 Discman to the Aux input. I got a LOT of use and enjoyment out of this setup all through my teenage years. ❤️
It's a fantastic machine! I have one too,bought in '90,and still perfectly working...I use it for videogames,connected to a lcd tv.And listening to my old casettes...So loud,and clear!!
Yes I"m using it for watching TV & youtube sound on a laptop.. I just inherited a small Flat screen TV but the sound is bad & tinny. Maybe this could be plugged into that too.
Very nice boombox, always loved Panasonic stereo equipments!! Maybe the cassette decks just need new belts, easy to fix problem. BTW the record button on deck 2 can't be pressed if there isn't a cassette inside the deck or the safety tabs on the bottom of the cassette are broken.

I'm looking for a higher end CD boombox from the early 1990's with some sort of bass enhancement. So far I'm having trouble finding a system with the features I want that actually has good bass. What models do you recommend?
Definitely get it, I have one paid $60 @ cash converters 15 years ago and the sound is BRILLIANT very crisp high end, pleasant midrange and the bottom end is just soooo warm and pending music style can be very PRONOUNCED. So I hope I've succeeded in persuading, you NOT regret buying it trust me!

Truly speaking this is first non-classic Panasonic, not japan made piece, mass production, low quality. The main part - cassettes tape mechanism are with broken gears and loosen belts. If it was a classic 80s one it should be 100% working piece.

Bought one of these Feb 1990 for 225 Irish pounds,still working perfectly to this day in my workshop although tape decks redundant for long long time
The woofer speakers have given up on my unit & cant replace them because the cabinets look sealed cannot be unscrewed

Yes definately worth getting. the bass is very good even without XBS bass boost but some ppl. will love XBS

I have one of these, albeit with a blown speaker.
Both cones, knackered. Any idea where I can find replacements, or suitable replacements?
I still use it, had to replace the speakers as they have become rusted.
yes the speakers on mine have gone wrong but cannot find how to undo the cabinets so cannot get to them
Tony Dunn i got it done from a technician, it looks easy to unscrew it. However my cassette belt needs replacement.
