- I bought this ancient boombox at a garage sale for $7 (they were asking for $15). It only partly worked when I got it home (tuner only, AM only, one speaker only, and no cassette deck). This is a complete teardown and repair, resulting in a lovely example of this iconic boombox.
And if you want to jump ahead...

I bought one of these new as a teenager after a few hours in a hifi store demoing 8 or 9 different competitors.
It wasn`t the loudest of flashiest but had the best sound.
This is the first time I`ve seen inside one though.#
I bought an excellent condition reone two years ago and had it serviced and I still use it daily.
Fab build, fab sound and classy looking.
Thanks for the vid.
I still have mine and consistently surprised by the sound quality also. Especially the line-in. Cheers
@@pescado99 any idea on where to send a similar AIWA 600 for repair in the U.S.? Too scared to do what you do in this video. Need a pro.
Daunting task. Cool boombox.
Still can't believe the audio quality from this puppy. Def worth saving.
@@pescado99 for sure. No leads on a repair shop in the States? I really wanna get my 600 fixed up nice.
