    Grant is an american brand but they are produced in Mexico.
    Everlast MX are regarded a punches glove because they allow to skim the glove because they have a little bit more space.
    Winning gloves are popular in Japan. When Grant got more popular some fighters with hand problems shifted from Winning to Grant, like Mayweather. One other problem for Winning was that the tsunami in 2012 destroyed their factory.

    Great information; agree'd with everything stated.
    I've been using a pair Winning 10oz pro fight gloves (MS300) since 2014 for the heavybag, and they are still very protective and functional, which is surprising because I'm a heavyweight and pro fight gloves aren't meant to last.
    By the way, before 2007, the Winning pro fight gloves were just 8oz/10oz laceup versions of their typical training gloves. This was back when they did not have that yellow oval logo which is seen on today's fight gloves. They have been redesigned to have less knuckle cushion so they can be more suited as a fight glove. If you thought they are too protective for fights right now, the pre-2007 model was even more protective.
    I even have the 10oz velcro training (MS300B) gloves, which is basically the velcro version of the pre-2007 fight gloves. I can't believe fighters were fighting in these back then (Morales/Pac 1&2, Floyd/Judah, Floyd/Gatti), they are supremely protective, no wonder Winning changed them.

    Everyone Drop everything! Kalle Saureland on the latest IFLTV Video talking about Eubanks Jr potentially stepping in as Groves replacement in the Super Middleweight World super series. Time stamp around 9 minutes in! He says everything has a time limit and even though Kugan pointed out Groves is already supposed to be in Camp Suareland is making it clear he’d rather know he’d have an replacement ready so the fight isn’t endlessly pushed back. +Hatmanstrikesback you’ve got to hold us down on this one and reflect on this, I’ve got my comments and like ready champ.

    I say get a pair of bag mitts for bags and pads; this will condition wrist and knuckles.
    Get a pair of sparring gloves: 14, 16 or 18oz. I would go for a brand like "Ringside" or "Chaos".

  • @theshed3641
    @theshed3641 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Joe Lewis used to hit the heavy bag in something similar to gardening gloves I believe. This was to work on power as you can really feel the punch you throw. Some boxing circles people say modern gloves are prohibiting people's power as they are too padded.

  • @joejackson1631

    I think rival gloves are the best gloves

  • @funkrates4778
    @funkrates4778 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    CLASSIC VERSION CLETOS: They are primarily made with horsehair. There is a layer of latex foam, very thin, clued to the leather, and then between that is horse hair. 3/4 of horsehair, 1/4 of foam.

  • @jshoota7021
    @jshoota7021 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Horse hair gloves are punchers gloves because horse hair is more dense than foam which makes your more stronger not a big difference but your opponent will feel it through out the fight it will take a toll on him

    What was your amateur record ?

  • @theshed3641
    @theshed3641 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Sparred and worked the bag for hundreds of rounds in the adidas gloves (16oz) and your exactly right hatman. They definitely do not help you when trying to work on power. But for some daft reason I love them, it's possibly a nostalgia thing. But as you say the flexibility and padding is too much, you can't feel your knuckles at all.

    Regarding the amateur gloves: Lomachenko also said they are terrible and that you can't really make a fist which is why he didn't get a stoppage in the World Series of Boxing.

    • @danielhenry4365

    • @philippgampe8120
      @philippgampe8120 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Daniel Henry Don't really know. I think they might have said it on HBO before his pro debut. I think they had the discussion during the fighter meetings because of the question if World Series of Boxing should be seen as pro or amateur.

  • @-MacCloud-
    @-MacCloud- 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Pretty good breakdown . There are punchers gloves , but some punchers like more protection . i guess its more of a build thing . Big dense boned fighters need less protection and those fighters tend to hit harder than the average, just not all and every . Basically. But also some gloves are just good gloves , like the grants , very protective and very hard . so anyone can wear that

    Grant is owned by Elvis Grant. He had no clue what boxing gloves are . Trainer Jimmy Montoya ( who used to train Hector Camacho ) was the one who introduced him to a glove maker in Mexico. Jimmy was also the real designer of Grant gloves .

  • @joeygonzo
    @joeygonzo 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Reyes Classic have foam outer and horse hair in the knuckle area . The Safetec is two layers of foam. Safetec gloves like the Everlast MX gloves should be illegal imo. THEY BOTTOM OUT easily.

    • @funkrates4778
      @funkrates4778 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The safetecs last a long time. Not sure what you are talking about. They are good to train in because of their durability and that the padding lasts awhile.

    The 'Puncher's Gloves' thing isn't a law or a rule, just a general consensus. I'd still refer to Reyes as 'puncher's gloves' even if there are many examples that negate this point of view. It's not wrong, just not an absolute and serious definition for the term.
    I bet you have a huge collection of trainers too! xD
