The game play is a knockoff of summoner's War which was the original type of game for mobile. Not mention SW is doing an Assassins Creed collaboration for the new game being released later this year. Not to mention they already did a Street Fighter collaboration. They also don't give away a bunch of stuff. Any game that gives away a bunch of what would be high dollar items is either going out of business or a low to mid quality game or is only a game to play with no actual IRL benefit. Last year's prize pool was $250k. Raid can't compete. Also don't be fooled by Raid saying their 8 years old they came out in 2018 that's lying to people to get sales. Summoner's War came out in 2014. They don't need to lie to make money since over 180 million people play the game. Raid doesn't have those numbers.
I guess it's worth noting even though we never got it in the TCG, the OCG's Pendulum FTK had a 100% success rate uninterrupted and around a 65% winrate through ash iirc
The 2018 Dark Pendulum FTK was better, precisely because even if you didn't draw the cards needed for the FTK, you could still play the Pendulum deck which was busted with Electromite being legal. EDIT: This is just my opinion. There have been a lot of strong FTKs.
In a world where the ghost girls don't exist, the bishbaalkin dino ftk and the dragon link earthbound immortal decks can each burn for 8k with 0.5 cards
Carrier is the monster removal, not backrow. Sure Joseph could just swap with Helix in the scale, but it's game 1, gotta stay true to the reality of not knowing what your opponent's on
18 upstarts mean you're playing a 22 card deck against your opponents' 40 card decks. Nearly double the consistency of any other deck. Now you know why every pot card since extrav won't let you draw for the turn if you use it
One of my most dreaded decks at an regional I entered, it was so satisfying to end phase twin twister them for game while I just wait for them to finish making their moves. Got me my highest entry yet in a regional for being a rookie to the game at top 16. Not enough for an invite, but it was an accomplishment for me entering yugioh.

What is hilarious is that if he had grabbed Helix on Duality he would have won game 1 Soul transition tributes the Qliphort monsters. If he had grabbed and Summoned Helix, he would have been able to pop one on Cimo's backrow in the endphase, and thus Cimo loses The perils of not knowing what your opponent was on(and the deck not being prepared to face Monarch FTK, since the main pieces were banned/limited by the time Card of Demise came out)

Would like to point out that consistency standards were also just different, in every period of Yugioh. Shining Victories era Blue Eyes used to be considered consistent. Fast forward to today, even with the addition of like 10 different search and draw cards, it’s still meme’d as brick-eyes.
I know you want the Chicken Game to draw 1 ideally, but you could have still gotten into the 8k threshold becaue Chicken Game CAN increase your opponent's LP too. Granted, a lot more had to go your way, and the RML hard counter made that even harder, but it wasn't impossible
Anime card of demise is actually even more busted like a lot of DM cards. It lets you draw up to 5 cards and its only restriction was sending your cards to the graveyard during your 5TH STANDBY PHASE.
In select circumstances (paying 800 for Scout for example) you can probably use Chicken Game to give your opponent the life points and get yourself back to the Life Equalizer ratio. Obviously this only holds true if you don't need the draws off the Chicken Game and have basically assembled the FTK.

These decks notably were not legal at the same time Card of Demise released with Millenium pack on April 15. The banlist that limited upstart went into effect on April 11 and Chicken Game was also banned on that list.
pretty sure the most consistent FTK deck in the history of Yugioh was Dangers with Cannon Soldier and a pre-errata Firewall Dragon or Plant Link with Amaryllis
You can totally make this in MD only missing 2 terraforming, which you can replace with something like toon bookmark, or card of demise, or dark world dealings.
Maybe it's the Mandela effect but I feel like I remember Magical Explosion FTK not using monarch, or any monsters besides Royal Magical Library or something, and that was what got so many deep draw cards hit...
Cimo not playing RML even though it could possibly have saved him is so aggravating. In game 2, even after using the upstart, he could've summoned it, activated pseudo space for another draw, activated the second pseudo space for nothing, then activated the monarch spell just because and then drawn another card from the library for 2 more draws in total in a deep draw deck
i dont even think you need the monarch stuff, replace the 2 cards from the sky for 2 extra copies of library. 3 Pantheism for 3 demise, 2 ether for the two other duality. 3 tenacity for 3 dark world dealing. the last ether and Erebus for 2 hand destruction. and domain for any free draw card im using cup of ace.

The only other fix for MBT losing life to maintain the 8k life-point threshold would have been to use Chicken Game's 3rd effect to give your opponent one thousand life points, but then you'd be down a draw if you do. It can work, but then MBT could continue to lose life if he did. I just think its a funny situation. XD

Ill let you know if I think of anything. You just want like a deep draw burn monarch spell deck right? Right now Im thinking something with blasting the ruins that can take advantage of all the spells in the GY. But Im not sure how to get the extra 2k consistently.
Looking at how severe this deep draw is, it makes me wonder why Konami has never tried choice restricting cards, like Cardfight Vanguard does. Making it so players would have to choose between cards would make designing meta relevant FTKs like this much harder.
They do that in duel links with the limit 1, 2 & 3 list but also duel links is a completely different format and game so who knows how well it would work in the actual game. Would be an interesting thing for some yugituber to try though, could make for a cool tourney just would need to take a lot of time to think about the actual banlist what with there being over 10k cards.
I have a love/hate relationship with FTK decks. I respect when people get creative and break the game and I LOOOOVE to see all the ways they do that, but also they do become real boring after youve seen them work the first time
I remember going to a garden city regional and warning my friends about this degenerate deck. I talked mad shit and realized later that the dude in front of me that was avoiding eye contact with us had his deck list filled out with this horrendous FTK 😂

Demise in pure Artifacts is sooo good--you already mostly play on the opponent's turn so there's 0 drawbacks
Demise in Runick stun is so much better. You don't plan on either player playing the game and you can just shuffle back the discards with Fountain.
