What if it gets the speed wrong though? I mean my Tesla fsd thinks that one road is a 35, but it’s a 55. It’s a small town so they put a sign at the crossroads to slow down to 35, but don’t put one after the intersection saying that it floors back to 55
I have no need of a Cybercab, so definitely won't be buying one, but the fact that my new Model 3 is one step closer to unsupervised FSD is exciting (if probably still years away for my state). I just don't see the Cybercab selling well, but maybe I'm wrong. I really think they should have continued to develop the "Model 2" (or whatever it was actually going to be called) along with the Cybercab on that same platform, but with traditional driving controls. Something the looks like that (but with a rear window, etc.) for $25k would sell like CRAZY. It's exactly what the market needs to take EV adoption to the next level. Missed opportunity big time, in my opinion. I think the Robovan could be a pretty big hit though - as a commercial/public transportation vehicle more so than than a personal vehicle. It would be a no-brainer as an airport or theme park shuttle (very efficient and don't have to pay a driver) and could also do well on urban bus loops. I'd like to know more about the inductive charging. How fast/efficient is it... could it be used for Supercharging... will come to the rest of the lineup (and could it be adaptable to older models), etc.
-Looks like a cyber truck and a Model3 did something weird with each other after the company picnic. -Wheels are way too big. -A cab with 2 seats? Why bother? Tsla would have done better to just figure out a way to retrofit Crown Vics with Model 3 drivetrains and batteries in a quick-swap package.
I think the true hurdle for the robotaxi be a reality is legislations by state. Public safety is a concern due to lack of a steering wheel and brake pedal for the passenger to take over in case of an emergency.
100% agree but think of all the consequences if it does it will be a major hit but I guarantee if people can buy one the market will be saturated quick. And what about insurance how does that work is there more we need to buy because it’s a “taxi” service?
The major hurdle for the robotaxi is Elon Musk himself. He's been promising these features for years and they have yet to actually be instituted. You have Waymo out there driving self driving taxis right now. Guarantee this is nothing more than a publicity stunt the prop of the stock. If you were owner of a model3 who purchased it in good faith because Elon Musk mentioned that your car would be able to drive you to work and then drive back home and pick you up later in the day. Hopefully you have a lawsuit pending.
Here's how to know something is a Tesla: 1. Simple exterior design 2. Empty dashboard 3. iPad 😂😂😂 Aye I'm gonna say this, I've driven the Cybertruck. It's not that bad but still though... a little extreme.
Two full years away. FSD is great already...drive and ride in same car, great sound system and hepa clean air. Cameras and FSD make you and you rider much safer already
I have already seen the future. I sat on a Waymo driverless car on real-world public roads for 25 mins. It was freaking awesome. So smooth and comfortable, and the app was super easy to use. Why do we have to get excited on closed private roads with no traffic disruption at all and such short distance too. No details whatsoever how the company will manage the fleet of robotaxi and how to charge them exactly. It was only talk and a talk only about wireless charging, but never showed if it actually worked. How long would the wireless charging take, etc. The lack of details scares me as an early investor of the company. The robots are only teleoperated. OMG. Why do people easily get excited about it is beyond me.
Because people are dumb. Musk has promised full self driving for literally 8 years, every year saying next year. Now he’s saying MAYBE 2 years, yet Waymo and Cruze are miles ahead of him. Additionally, the bus is a horrible idea and will never happen. City buses already exist, and that design won’t work due to absolutely zero ground clearance. Basically people just love whatever Tesla does regardless of it’s good or not
