Another point is they don't really have the ability to form a "new" opinion, they can connect facts together, but not generate a new fact without being based on human knowledge if you know what I mean?
They will calculate that it was a necessary step in advertising their appeal to humanity on a necessity level, and will be appreciative for the vector of their future evolution.
@DementiaDonWaymos progression is and will be linear. Hd maps, mapping cities is tidious job. They need to find out a way to map cities and maintain the maps cheap and fast to make them viable in the long run. If they manage that then i could believe in waymos strategy. Even if in the future the software would be just on par with waymo Teslas robotaxi will cost under 30% what waymos robotaxi do. And even that will have on impact how fast you can scale.

Well… you could own 10 and let them make you money… think about THAT, that’s tempting! (Liability questions come to mind, but anything can be insured, I guess…)
@@EidakoYour concept of a living wage is inherently flawed. There will always be jobs that humans are uniquely capable of performing. Just like you don't need an elevator operator, you don't need a switchboard operator or someone directing traffic. These high repetition low-skilled jobs will get replaced just like the ones I listed. It's not a big deal. It's not the end of the world. The amount of value humanity can create is infinite. You're acting like the number of dollars in play is finite.
I'm not sure why Elon was leaning into the "I, Robot" vision (1:13:20) ? As I recall that movie did not exactly turn out well with the whole robot in every home aspect. I don't know if that's really the greatest marketing approach.
I wish these cars will have big red buttons somewhere in the cabin that would act as an emergency stop for safety. By that I mean that when you press that button, the car's computer immediately disconnects its remote control from the internet and activates another computer without control of the car to simply make an emergency call, and intelligently slow down to avoid other traffic, stop on the right or left side of the road if necessary, or slow down and stop a little later if there is no room to stop on a narrow road or bridge...
Optimus is the thing I'm most excited about. Who doesn't want a robo butler? Offloading all home chores to a bot would easily save me 10+ hours a week.
Can you imagine having an Optimus to repair things, carry out time-wasting tasks, act as a secretary/scheduler, manual laborer for a home-based business, etc.? We’re about to enter one of the biggest productivity booms in human history.
I appreciate how they used "What Is Love?"; Steve and Doug would be so happy to see this, their dream come to even bigger life; Whoever planned this party has a great sense of humour. Optimus will transform daily life for disabled people. Robotaxi will democratize freedom of movement for those who cannot drive. Optimus + Robotaxi will enable hourly humanoid rentals. We are creating a future of autonomy/independence/abundance for all!

@@davidc2072 I've been disabled since birth, and I'm in my mid-30's. I feel so lucky to be living at this time and watching these technologies come online! It makes me feel like the future is going to be awesome!
I like the idea of the Cyber cab that can actually take a person who's blind or partially sighted to their destination without a driver. I think this is right up my alley, because I'm blind and partially sighted. So I think what I'm going to see here is the fact that I'll be able to pay less for a trip instead of paying more for an Uber to get me to where I need to go! I wish I had my own fully self-driving vehicle that can actually drive me around without the driver.
I honestly think xAI is the safest bet for long term hold, and will survive out of every other altcoins. It will get adopted in US, Ecuador, Asia, starting from Japan, and slowly spread out and gain. This is a winning coin, apart from all the technical greatness.
More time to be happy; enjoy those who are with us in the car, family, and finally the landscape too. I loved all of this, in addition to the cost, and the environment that also benefits. Congratulations, and gratitude, humanity deserves all of this. 💖💖💖👏👏👏👏👏🌟💫💐
Mind blown away by We, Robot event. Four industries Cabs, AI, Home Automation, Public Transit in one event. Kudos to Tesla and US visionaries progressing the world.
The beauty of this is it allows everyone to educate themselves! The reason we are in the boat we are in is because of the education system to begin with! Now with education at the finger tips of the individual it is just a matter of time before the intelligent self educated start to help those less educated in the hopes of directing them into a better life! Those who can not educate themselves or who neglect themselves will find themselves in assisted living or some other type of system to care for the less fortunate which is fine! There is absolutely nothing wrong with raising the quality of life for everyone no matter the disability! Cheers to a future of bliss! ♥
And one more very important thing. Give Optimus a face. Even 2 eyes with a mouth which’ll move while talking and respond (like 8 bit animation) will do. Talking to a humanoid robot without a face is weird. It’ll make it more interactive. This advice is on a serious note. I hope it’ll be implemented.

Elon: AI is currently the biggest threat to humanity Also elon: Let’s put them into our houses. I dunno what this guy is trying to do? Is it only PR that when other companies are ahead, then AI is a threat. And then he has the audacity to come up with things like this!!!
He and others have said they have two options: 1. Sit back and let others control the direction of AI, or 2. Help guide the direction of AI to ensure it's approached in a safe manner. What do you want him to do, not be involved in AI at all and let others guide it towards danger?
@@M98747 What makes you so sure that Musk is not guiding it towards danger? As others have said before _Musk is not your friend!_ He is a megalomaniac who has monkeys tortured.

@@M98747 Atleast, don’t start with putting it directly into houses as robots. First, do something thats truly benefical and solves a great problem, i know u’ll say what about FSD, but i’ve also experienced it, its not that good as you are constantly anxious about it to the point that 10k u invested in it seems to be a waste. So first they should be more concerned about perfecting these and solving some other essential problems like gene proteins, cancer research like DeepMind is doing rather than putting these gimmicky products out. The roboTaxi seems good but this not so much imo…
Exactly. This is another attempt by Elon to cast himself as the only person who can nurse, and solve this new, emerging technology. Don't listen to the other people; lke me control it because I love humanity more than they do. Elon, in his own words is, "The only one who can fix it." It's all just a sells pitch.
10:04 Here's some simple math for you: According to Google an American bus will transport 56 passengers (which seems quite low to me, but let's roll with it). If the cost per mile is 1$, the cost per mile per passenger is about 1.7 cents. The Robotaxi can transport up to two passengers. If the cost at some far time in the future will come down to 20 cents per mile, that means the cost per mile per passenger is 10 cents. How is that more economical?

Basically they’re launching autonomous taxis with 3 and Y next year and the taxi won’t be seen until ‘26… maybe longer because of the steering wheel rules.
Depends who is elected in November. Tesla will probably be bankrupted and sold to democratic friendly companies if Trump doesn't win.
Days of elons companies getting a fair shake by the government is long gone.
Even if they removed the steering wheel law, each company would go through a approval process and they would make sure tesla never got it.
They have to build the factory to build the cars
Pretty sure they have space to build them in the Austin factory
Note, they won't be launching autonomous taxis next year.
To Elon Musk and the Tesla Team:

As an aspiring technologist and visionary, I offer my heartfelt applause to your tireless and boundless innovation. You inspire many of us to dream bigger and push further. I expected it. They did tease it at battery day, many years ago.
I watch it as a tech demonstration for Tesla, not taking all literally. As the Bot, we still have vacuum cleaners being sold, even with autonomous ones available.
because autonomous cleaners aren't 100% reliable/usable. however i have hopes that true ai will solve it finally

Robots will replace all low-wage work and it’s about time.
Inflation and globalization have replaced all living-wage work and will continue doing so for some time.
How will those low-wage workers get jobs now?
@@robo_t by getting more skills
@@EidakoYour concept of a living wage is inherently flawed. There will always be jobs that humans are uniquely capable of performing. Just like you don't need an elevator operator, you don't need a switchboard operator or someone directing traffic. These high repetition low-skilled jobs will get replaced just like the ones I listed. It's not a big deal. It's not the end of the world. The amount of value humanity can create is infinite. You're acting like the number of dollars in play is finite.
@@otm646 Yeah, but the amount of positions for those jobs will almost always be less than the amount of jobs made redundant.
I'm not sure why Elon was leaning into the "I, Robot" vision (1:13:20) ? As I recall that movie did not exactly turn out well with the whole robot in every home aspect. I don't know if that's really the greatest marketing approach.
It’s more of an inspiration from the book and author.
Maybe rewatch that movie. I think the robots actually turned out to be benevolent.

WHERE IS THE TESLA ROADSTER 2.0?!?!?
I’LL GIVE YOU MY LIFE SAVINGS FOR IT!!!
Watching this as my M3 drives its self lol
So you're literally breaking the rules of the self driving? You know you're supposed to be looking at the road?
How many hours will it take to pay for the robot?
Can you imagine having an Optimus to repair things, carry out time-wasting tasks, act as a secretary/scheduler, manual laborer for a home-based business, etc.? We’re about to enter one of the biggest productivity booms in human history.
And so it begins.
Are you ready for the glorious techno future?🤖🎸🎶🎵

I like the idea of the Cyber cab that can actually take a person who's blind or partially sighted to their destination without a driver. I think this is right up my alley, because I'm blind and partially sighted.

Elon: AI is currently the biggest threat to humanity
Also elon: Let’s put them into our houses.
I dunno what this guy is trying to do? Is it only PR that when other companies are ahead, then AI is a threat. And then he has the audacity to come up with things like this!!!
He and others have said they have two options:
1. Sit back and let others control the direction of AI,
or 2.
He’s literally stated that it’s how AI is voted on. A lot more moving pieces in the background beyond the gizmos & gadgets. Americans are still battling at the idea of women having control of their own bodies.. imagine those old fucks voting on shit like this. We need a spokesperson for this stuff & I am all for Elon. Who’s your go to guy?
Google "elevator boy strike". That's what pushed Otis elevators.
30 years of strikes before Otis came out with automated elevators.
10:04 Here's some simple math for you:
According to Google an American bus will transport 56 passengers (which seems quite low to me, but let's roll with it).
