Travelled a little about Canada. BC, Saskatchewan, Ontario, Vancouver Island and Alberta. It's an enormous country and it's near enough empty. Two days of driving took us across Saskatch and Alberta. The place is so huge and empty even the crows have to pack their own rations.
For viewers in other countries, Western Canada has two major mountain systems, the Coast / Island System, along the Pacific Ocean, and the Rocky / Columbia System, about 500 km / 300 miles inland. Separating them are a series of mile-high plateaus about 250 km / 150 miles wide, this is where this video is filmed, in a deep dry valley west of the small city of Kamloops.
Freight trains take truck traffic off of our highways. We need to keep trains running. We also need to restore rail lines that have been abandoned, and rebuild them with concrete ties.
The view is just beautiful how lucky to be a train engineer just to see all the breath taking scenery I'm jealous no I'm not just kidding great camera work thank you for shearing this with me thank you .now I'm going to view kicking horse pass another place that's total gorgeous .
Saludos amigos desde Costa Rica, aquí en Costa Rica los trenes apenas llegan a 4 vagones pero. Siempre me gusta verlos pasar muchas gracias por tan buen video
Excellent footage of these mighty trains. Loved the soundtrack too! Will definitely go in my playlist "trains, planes, ships & church bells" ;o) Thank you !
I love the sound of those engines idling listen to that power and when they're going by the roar of those engines is definitely a sound you must hear I love the trains ever since I wore a young man's clothes
THE THING IS::This is very interesting. I like it, I can watch it by the hour it is some thing happing . I like to watch trains in motion. I like action.
I'm curious why they need 4 locomotives for empty coal cars? I see empty coal cars go behind my house all the time and usually it's 2 engines at the most. Full coal trains usually 2 in the front, 1 in the middle and a pusher at the end.
Don't know what it is that's so relaxing watching trains rolling. Q: are all 4 locos in a consist like these pulling/pushing? And comment: I know he's on duty, but if I was that guy standing out there, I would have a slingshot and some clay balls and shoot a little. Anyway, awesome vid. Thank u!
The crew in the lead locomotive can select what the mid and rear units are doing. IE, they could all be in power, or the front 2 could be in power snd mid / rear units in dynamic braking. This helps train handling going over hills.
In 1979 I have travelled from Calgary to Kemp loop, Revelstock in freight train.British Columbia is beautiful provive of canada with good scenes. Engr.Nabi Bakhsh Lahore Pakistan
Conductor is supposed to be doing an inspection. Well; no wonder CP has so many failures due to not being aware of mechanical problems. This guy spent more time watching his new boots that the train.
choochoo3985 they had to do a passing train inspection of the other movement. In the 5 minutes it took for the other train to arrive you aren’t going to walk much of your train.
Hello ! your videos are very good. we always follow you!! Could you record when the trains are loaded with the containers at the port? it would be great!! because there are no videos so that you can see when they load them onto the trains and then they leave for their destination... and also record something from the cabin, how the driver operates, the noise of the engine, the journey, how the landscapes are seen, etc. etc. it would be great !!! I hope answer sdos!! from mendoza argentina!!!
Beautiful scenery (looks good on my widescreen). looks like that siding is out in no man's land? was the train with the four engines loaded? The driver of the unloaded train didn't waste any time before he goosed the power. what is the difference in the number of people on a crew today than the days of the past? thanks for an outstanding video. (from the USA)
That's a GEVO auto shutdown/auto start feature. "Another feature of the prototype is "Smart Start". For the sake of both emissions and fuel savings all GEVOs have been built with an auto shutdown/auto start feature. After the loco has been idle for a period time, the engine will shut down on its own. If the prime mover cools to a certain temperature the loco will automatically start again to keep from freezing. Our ESU version is also equipped with this "Smart Start" feature. If enabled, after idling for about 5 minutes, the engine will shut down and without doing anything to the throttle it will start again on its own depending on options set in CV48. If at any time during this shutdown mode you would like to run your loco, just turn the throttle slightly and the engine will go through it's start up cycle and then allow you to move it. The feature can also be turned off if it is deemed undesirable. By default this feature is off."
Cp lines have lots of hills and curves. Also once that train is full it will be really heavy. Coal trains are the second heaviest types of trains there are. I wouldn’t do that with less then 3 units

With all the weight they pull, it's amazing how quickly they can get moving.
Meretrix06 yeah, 16,000hp, this is an empty train, so not too bad then.
@@SantaFe5811 2, 1 and 1 empty coal sets are like a sports car. Standing to 30mph in less than a quarter mile.
If it's an eastbound it's definitely MTY.
The noise changes in the locomotives are vivid and incredible. You are definitely my favorite Chanel for sure
I suppose you mean Chanel No. 5 or is it Chanel No. 19?

KARTA VIDEO 2 -TRAINS thanks
Do you have railroads in Indonesia?
I was a conductor for CP some years ago. We would wait at reds for hours sometimes for no apparent reason. Hours. Frustrating as hell
I heard that's par for the course for most roads
My dad still working for cp they moved him to thunder bay area shunt cars around yard
@@camileshakakeesic4421 I’m also in Thunder Bay working for CP 🤘

Delightful scenery and a coal train too. What more could you ask for !
GE series sounds very similiar to Russian 2TE10 series. Great sound!
In my opinion our lovomtives are better looking than the Russians!!😀😀and sounds better!!
Thanks! I would love to see 2TE10s in action one day!
Similar to 2TE116U (because they also powered by GE FDL engine)

Hello siding how many miles
How many minutes did the waiting train stop the engine
I like CP and CN thanks Dave
For a moment, I didn't understand why the train does not go.Due to one rail road, they need to wait until another passes by.

Didn't realize CP hauled coal.
Where does it originate and where does it terminate?
Terminates at Roberts Bank off of Vancouver I think.

Beautiful country!!
Who do I speak too regarding hiring on?
i like the new AC 4400 CW. And already getting dirty. Hope those brand new Engines get washed
Those AC44CWs are old. i doubt they will be washed.
All those units have yet to be washed 5 years later...lol. They don't give 2 squirts what they look like.
Great video! Why are there three heads on the signal mast?
Bill Griffin it’s the Canadian CTC signalling system used all over by CN, CP
So what's happened at 3:58? Problem? Saving fuel?
