- The Nintendo Super Famicom is one of my favourite consoles, not only because of the fantastic pixel art of the games, but also the fun look of the hardware! In this video, I take the Super Famicom controller and turn it into original hero designs based on a fun and famous Japanese franchise!

Did you ever see the Sega Girls? Those were pretty clever how they incorporated design from each console.
Omg I can just imagine a Saturday morning cartoon of this, where the opening is like a split-shot of all their belts blinking at the same time and panning up to their faces w determined expressions, each putting on their helmets and getting their gear as the lyrics in the song are talking about their individual powers
This game idea could have sold the Famicom system. Only second to Mario.
To be fair, success in that time had a really high luck factor, even more than today, a cool game could have sold like shit and worse games sold like gold
it would have been super cool if their visors were each based on the button they represented. Like X's visor being an X, etc.
I came through the instagran and found it amazing, the way he elaborates and executes his art is amazing !!! I just wish I had the automatic speech translator for Portuguese because I don't know the North American language so much. But still I can understand with your pixel art !!!!
Wow thank you for watching! I went into the settings for my uploads and set the language, so I hope that helps with the automatic translation. Looks like it worked for me but I couldn't tell if the Portuguese was correct!
I felt the same whiplash hearing that you did this on a track pad that I do hearing about my friend drawing on his phone with his finger. Wow
That one puzzle in Secret of Mana couldve been a whole lot easier if they left those button colors alone
If there would be a cartoon called “Control Team” and they would be the main heroes... I would totally watch it!

I really like this. cool designs! I keep thinking that it would be neat to do a Ben Ten/Megaman kind of thing with the belt and have one hero that can change into the other versions to handle alternate situations. Whatever color is on top of the belt buckle is the suit he wears at the time.

I'm just binging your vids and I'm slowly falling in love with the style of your commentary like "It also gives you an opportunity to sneak more color into the sprite". It's the little quirky ways of describing something in a way that fits so perfectly with the general vibe you have, not to mention the amazing production quality and really cool sprite ideas. It's a cliche at this point but I really think this channel is going to blow up. I didn't even consider making pixel art for the sake of it before, but here I am, trying to incorporate all the advice I hear in your vids. You really get a point across when you mention all of these methods you're using in every new time-lapse. Have you considered something like a review/rating/help videos about some sprites your viewrs make? Anyway, this comment ended up being a tad long, cheers!

Maan these are so nice. Why are things so satisfying to look at in pixels, I mean if you just painted these with regular brushes it wouldn't be impressive, but because it's pixels it's just so nice

For X, I would have, personality, used the Start button as a button on the glove to either be the communicator or the interface
I love the intro! There's something about "I'll roll the credits and meet you at the desk," that's really fun.
Dude, I could just imagine if this came out on the SNES/Super Famicon. And to play the game you would switch between all of the troopers using their assigned button and having to do things like wiggle the activation cord to grapple or use the Start and Menu options to send out all four troopers at once to combine there powers

I did wonder why I had a SNES but with the coloured buttons as a kid (UK resident so that explains it). Best of both in my opinion, I do like the coloured buttons and the particular shade of grey more than the NA version.

Wouldn't it be cool if you named each character after their button (X, A, B and Y)? That way their design would be inspired from that button, but it would also be their initials :)

With the grey color palette the first Trooper looks like Newground's guy!! Nice job, too.

The first F zero on the super Nintendo use the four colors of the button to make all fours racers ; ) . From racers to fighter! Great idea!

I could see that Trooper A have the board that could be compatible with the tonfas as a reference with the controller itself.

If you ever revisit this concept it'd be cool to give them a zord. Or add in special ranger like later seasons of sentai do. Maybe base them of a SNES add ons like the super scope or power glove.

Fun fact! In New Super Mario Bros. Wii, the order of the characters on the disk are the order of the colors on the Super Famicom controller! Blue Toad, Mario, Yellow Toad, Luigi!

Lol.. I just saw the rest of your video where you said it! (my prior message; In Spain (at least as far as I know.. I guess Europe?), the controller had the same look as the Famicom with colored buttons, but called Super Nintendo, like the US one.) ;)

Your pixel art tutorials are amazing. I've been looking into doing sprites of my _Lion King_ OCs Armie and Rat.

I think the cape makes Trooper Y look more like the leader than Trooper X is.

They look great! But... "Run/jump" should have gone with D-Pad - since you always run and jump in a certain direction.
"Attack" should have gone with cord, which obviously looks like a whip (Castlevania!)
"Special" should have gone with L/R (special items in Mario Kart, also it's the special buttons the NES didn't have)
I only agreed with select/start for "Menu" 😂

It is unfair to the rest of TH-cam to have something this high quality on its platform
The SNES and The SFC are only region locked by a little plastic piece in the cartridge slot so i would not really matter which one you get
