I agree with Melinda on this one. I doubt he’d sit with her and be available to her and also to his own feelings. But he could learn to do that. Lead with vulnerability and humility is excellent advice!

Belinda’s brilliant intuition and points of view about both attachment avoidance in the first question, and the systemic nature of that which we share and create from within our separate patterns of injury and abandonment in the second: all insights accurate, loving and profound. It’s nice to see the quality of your own humor and grace with each other. Thank you! both.

I have watched and enjoyed many talks and interviews with Terry, including the recent Relationship Summit, which was excellent.. and, having the two of you together is the BEST... hearing your different perspectives and your interaction is the most educational and informative... thank you so much... hope you continue with your real talk...

"You can't get mad at what you didn't ask for" Thanks Terry. I also appreciate Belinda's perspective. Although I am an amazing connector - I hug people all the time. Thank you for those amazing insights! We love you too Terry & Belinda!

Not only asking, but asking in a way your partner can hear, feel respected, and lean in to. And critical next step, reinforcing the positive when you get movement in the desired direction, even if just the start. Reinforce the effort and you're more likely to see more of it. -- Asking via critical or complaint will move your partner further away. Complaint or harsh/negative tone in acknowledgment of the effort will undermine the desire to continue striving to improve, if not make it even harder to regain momentum later.

I'm disppointed that Terry & Belinda didn't hear Corolla say that she DID ask, but Allan defended himself rather than giving her what she asked for. And hugging can be a very superficial kind of connection

Thank you so much, Terry and Belinda for sharing your insights online together. I find your approach to breaking down the walls of patriarchy through RLT so refreshing and affirming in a world where we are bombarded with information that feeds the frenzy of disconnect, individualism, power, and control. I am really looking forward to your forthcoming episodes!

I really want to thank you both for these videos. I study YOU! I did not grow up with good role models and disagreement TERRIFIES me. So much so that I have not been able to be in a relationship because the minute conflict shows up, I'm out. even in friendships, I have difficulty accessing that next level intimacy because, vulnerability leads to disagreement, disagreement leads to violence. I get activated just hearing you two briefly disagree intellectually, but I find it so helpful how you model moving through it. Seriously, thank you for disagreeing!

Terry, please let once in a while go of the idea that the man is the disconnected one and the woman suffers on it. It's a pattern that I see quite frequently in videos but it's not as predominant as people like to believe. Yes, we do have the tendency to disconnect instead of challenging when it comes to the women in our lives... but that's because we know better than to engage with them in those moments.
