- Eagles QB Jalen Hurts was ripped by FS1 host Emmanuel Acho this week when the former linebacker said that Hurts cannot win a championship. Shortly after, ESPN’s Adam Schefter explained his take on Hurts and if Kellen Moore can get the most out of the Eagles QB1 in 2024. Also, a new report suggests that Justin Simmons could come to Philadelphia. However, a deeper dive into this Eagles signing rumor shows that there might not even be a deal in place. In 72-73 Bob Greise led Miami to 2 championships. It wasn’t Greise that was the brain surgeon. It was Shula. Hurts is far more talented than Bob Greise. With a good game plan and good talent around him, there’s no reason why Jalen isn’t good enough!

Jalen Hurts was forced back from injury too soon and played hurt because he didn't want to let the team and the city down! The coaches ruined his season last year with indecision, poor system, poor scheme, poor play calling, and constantly running predictable high school style offense. Watch what he does!

Dude, Herbert broke rookie records, Jackson is a 2x MVP, Joe Burrow is still riding the SB hype (just like Hurts fans), and who the fuck cares about Dak. Hurts has one good game in the playoffs (I get that its the SB). Hurts has still a decent amount to prove. Hasn't thrown for more than 25 TDs once, had a massive increase in TOs last year and relied heavily on a QB sneak last year...Lets not act like he shouldn't be above criticism.

The best thing is not to try and make sense of it yourself. Ignore it. Just cause someone has an opinion and also has a sports radio or TV show, it doesn't make their opinion any more relevant. What these guys are actually doing is a bit of self promotion by sparking controversial statements. Thomas said it best already...don't "tune-in" to it!
Herbert broke rookie records and was named OROY. You put Herbert in any of the systems Hurts has played in and I can confidently say that Herbert has more success, solely because better of his better arm talent. Have you watched Herbert play more than 2-3 games?

Blame the coaching all you want, but Howie let the top 5 tacklers, 15+ sacks, and 6 interceptions walk before the 2023 season. The fall of the defense and team is on Howie, who also hired the coordinators, more than anything or anyone else.

Last year’s coordinators are gone for a good reason. This year I hope our OC will be calling most of the plays and it’s more his offense than Nick’s.
Simmons would still be the best safety on the roster in a familiar scheme. CJ Reed Brown Coop is not ideal. With Simmons you bump them all down 1 and it looks much better.

Every D back in the NFL knew what play we were running before we ran it. That’s a big reason he was intercepted so often. Yeah he made some bad throws but the offensive play calling left him with only bad options
At least 9 of Hurts' interceptions were just poor decisions.

I love how Schefter says Hurts can’t come out and have two years ‘like that’…like yeah the INTs weren’t ideal but he still had 38 total TDs and 3800 yards passing plus 600 yards rushing like Lamar Jackson’s numbers are much different minus the INTs. It’s funny bc Dak had the turnover issue in ‘22 and I don’t remember any media members doubting that he’d obviously work on that issue and bounce back. We also forget that this dude only turns 26 in August, he hasn’t peaked! Dak had a career year his first year in Moore’s offense and with Goedert I think we have more skill than they did that year.

He’s probably the best backup safety in the NFL. I like Blankenship he’s undeniably limited athletically. Thats not a knock. If we can get better at any position we should be looking into it. & there should always be a competition at every position.

I love hurts but Adam got some very good points. My biggest disappointment was he didn’t take accountability. I was more disappointed with his character. Jalen is a Top 5 Qb the end of last season got all us baffled. It Felt like I was watching Carson Wentz in the post game interviews for them games at the end of season. I know he is a stand up guy & I know he will bounce back..

how bout this. Media geads love Burrow. I like him too. But they never say ge couldn't wanna big game. he had the final drive in his SB appearance and came up short. Hes gad elute WRs sunce yr 2. No, thanks to Simmons. If you want to bring in a veteran safety as a back up, that would be good. But I’d rather let the young guys develop then a one year starter.
Justin Simmons BEST option if he wants to get paid, & he does, is to wait on an injury during training camp, possibly as long as early in the season and signing there hopefully with a familiar scheme imo. I dont think we need him.

I mean the narritive stems from him being the 14th best rated QB in the league in regards to passing yards. Also being top of the league in INTs for most of the season and ultimately ending up 3rd most did not help. We get the defensive nature of jalen with most eagles fans but looking at this just as a football fan he really did not have a impressive season by any means. Most fans will tell you it was the OC and this might be the case but we still dont have the proof of that till we see both kellen and jalen in action. Another worrisome thing to think about is what kellens tendencies vs jalens tendencies, jalen tends to be comfortable running outside of the pocket and processing his reads but kellen likes his QB to reamin within the pocket and make tighter window throws. This could have been a move by the front office for the development of jalens passing within the pocket but if he does not buy into this idea then it could go south very fast. Ultimately id say eagles fans need to be patient with jalen specifically to start the season as it might take time to change his playstyle.
I get that it's his job, but Acho shouldn't be calling out any athlete that's currently playing today. I remember when he played for the Eagles, he was a decent player, but it was totally obvious that he had no love for the game and was more interested in being on TV and that burgeoning, soon to explode thing called social media.

Not only was it the offensive coordinator, hurts was hurt by the end of September and had to tough out the rest of the year. You could clearly see he was hobbled.

Jalen Hurts progression is in question because he is predictable 😮 Every defense was picking him off last season. I still think Jalen can do better with the right OC. He's only had 3 different coordinators. I thought the same thing but didn't realize Steichen was there in 2021. This will be the 4th OC for Hurts in 5 seasons.

You can't say that 2023 Hurts played close to level of 2022 Hurts. He didn't. He was NOTICEABLY less effective....less accurate...less confident in the pocket...he probably did have a knee issue that affected him...but he also looked more "confused" and perhaps the Defenses caught up to him somewhat. I will also give him that Iggs coaching was a JOKE. I DO expect him to bounce back this year...he has a ton of weapons to use. There will be a lot of pressure on him however. We shall see!
Hurts has more success than Most the Elite QB’s remember he’s still an NFC Conference Champion most these other QB’s never even made it to a SB

year 2 - took a below average nfl talent team to the playoffs WITH a 1st yr head coach
